I bought these several months ago to repair two so-called "premium quality" hoses. The male connector replaced one that was stepped on and crushed, and the female replaced one that leaked badly. In both cases they did a great job with no issues or leaks after weeks of use. Although lightweight, these connectors appear to be considerably sturdier and better quality than what they replaced. I really liked the two piece clamps, which were very simple to install, look good, and are much easier on the hands than band type hose clamps. Overall, an excellent product and a great value. Lighter weight than expected. Functions perfectly, installs perfectly. They appear well made and leak free. I installed them with Teflon tape on the threads. Was that necessary? I always do it on every connection old and new. Tape is cheap, chasing leaks is a PIA. I purchased another set. Just know these aren't the heavy ones you find in the store. To be honest I wasn't expecting too much from these end repair adapters, but I had a big, long, expensive hose that I was hoping not to have to replace, so I took a chance and bought these. WOW! Installation was super easy. You cleanly cut the end of your hose off (I used garden loppers and it made a nice straight cut). Then you thread the hose through the coupler, push the connector in, and tighten everything up. REALLY well made! Heavy. Uses quality material and even the tightening screws were allow so they don't strip. Hesitantly turned the water back on and not so much as 1 drip! I've had a set of these for quite a while on a different hose. They worked flawlessly for all that while. What I like about them is there's no metal pieces that can pierce your hands when using them. They're nice and smooth with no hose clamp to pierce your hands. Read more
Product works as intended. Quality seems pretty decent. I plan on making several shorter hoses out of an old hose, and will end up ordering more. As for the 1 star leaking comments, my guess would be people were repairing "kink free" hoses. I had a Costco hose that leaked when I repaired it. If you look inside the hose, there is a line of material that stops the connection from being air tight. If you scrape this back an inch, everything installs like it should and hose is leak free!!! A quality product, I repaired 2 hoses with this kit so far! I used the 2 male ends and one female end, it also comes with extra washers! Fit well, easy to install and better than compression rings! These grip well, it's not coming off! Read more
