I love these boxes. They are sturdy, stackable and attractive. Unfortunately, I had to return some of them b/c they did not fit in the space I have for them & I agree with other reviewers that the listed sizing is a bit hit or miss. So, I'll list some examples of what did and did not fit. Salad Plate Storage Chest: Rimmed soup/pasta bowls - 9" in diameter - when I put them in the Salad Plate Storage Chest - the bowls touched all 4 sides and made the box bulge a little. Probably would be fine, but my wedding china is platinum rimmed, so I decided not to take a chance. I used this size box for my 8 1/4" Salad Plates - which left plenty of room on the sides, but not too much where they would slide around excessively. The next size up is the Dinner Plate size - which fit my 10 3/4" dinner plates perfectly with right amount of room on the sides, but i thought they were too big for my rimmed soup bowls. I could have padded around the bowls w/ some bubble wrap and that would have been fine. It's a judgement call. Stemware storage chests: Ok, this is where I had to spend a little time testing sizes. The sizing & description of the boxes & inserts were a bit confusing - even having read many of the reviews & measuring my stemware before purchasing. My suggestion is to forget the listed "glass name" of the box and focus on the measurements. For instance, my Red Wine crystal fit in the "Goblet" box, but not in the "Balloon Wine" size, etc. I'll use Waterford Marquis Vintage crystal stemware for reference sizes. I'm listing what I measured, but if you want to look up for the exact measurements, I've listed their product name. Also, I bought 1 of each size stemware storage chest so I could play around with them to see what fit. I'm glad I did. I ended up returning a couple and ordering more of a different size. Goblet storage chest: Fit my Full Body Red Wine (also fits White Wine & Iced Beverage - see my notes below). Full Body Red Wine - base 3 1/3", bowl diameter approx 3 1/2"- 3 2/3", height 8 3/4". About 1" to spare on the top & room to spare on sides and top. As I mentioned, these did not fit in the "Balloon Wine" storage chest - the width of the bowl did not fit in the dividers at all - even alternating the bowls facing up & down - just too tight. Champagne flute storage chest: This size actually fit my champagne flutes, white wine & footed iced beverage goblets. Vintage Flutes (champagne) - base 2 3/4", bowl 2", height 9". There's space on the sides and the top of the rim is *just* below the top of the box, but it closes with out touching the rims, so it's perfect. Vintage Classic White Wine - base 3", bowl 3", height 8 5/8". Space on sides and top. Note - this also fit in the Goblet storage chest - but had lots more room to spare on sides. Again, it's a judgement call, but I opted to use the champagne size box as it had less "play" on the sides and it was a little cheaper than the Goblet size box. Vintage Iced Beverage - base 3", bowl approx 3", height 7". Space on sides and lots on top. Note - this also fit in both the Goblet & the Balloon Wine storage chests - but had lots more room to spare on sides. Again, it's a judgement call, but I opted to use the champagne size box as it had less "play" on the sides and it was a little cheaper than the Goblet and Balloon Wine size boxes. Read more

This chest for salad plates is 8 inches tall by 9 x 9 inches inside square. My 8 inch Centura plates fit in it with side room to spare. Eight plates only use one-third of the chest depth. The chest arrives flat with a separate lid. Pull on the fabric side handles and the box frame opens like an accordian. Insert the base into the bottom of the box and its shape holds. The base and walls contain a hard board that is surrounded by a substantial polyester/cottom fabric. The hard board walls and lid are set at ninety degree angles that create strength and allow safe stacking, as on the dinner plate sized chest that I also purchased. The fabric handles make carrying the chest easy, and the 25 pound weight limit seems accurate. During household transport, plates inside do not touch the walls of this chest. Carrying plates is secure and certain, unlike with the soft quilt bags that I have, that require a sloppy grip through the bag, against the plates themselves, to get them to the table. The handles are riveted and will last. The polymer view window is a convenience to see what's inside, but I hope the window material resists degradation over the years. This dinnerware chest is well thought out in design and is one of those products that exactly meets requirements. I recommend this storage chest. Read more

These storage boxes are very sturdy and great protection for my aunt's favorite set of dishes that I inherited after she died. They have strong fabric handles on both sides. Very attractive, too. In one place in the description it says they are 10" in diameter, but they are really 9, which is perfect for my salad plates, which are 8 1/2 ". They will hold much more than 12 plates, though. I would guess maybe 20. Not sure why they made these boxes so tall. But you can fill it up with dessert plates or saucers. There are only enough felt dividers, though, for 12 plates. It would have been a bit more useful for my purpose if the boxes had a wipe-clean exterior instead of cloth since I will be storing these in the basement. I knew this before I bought them, but others I had seen with plastic exteriors did not seem to be as good quality as these, so I opted for quality. I will probably purchase a large plastic bin to store the boxes in. Overall I am very happy with these containers, and I feel they were a good purchase. I definitely would recommend them. Read more

Measured my dishware before ordering this product and based on size descriptions and some other reviews, decided to go with the "salad plate storage chest". As stated by another reviewer, it is NOT 9 by 9 inches with an even smaller interior. It is 10 by 10 inches. Had I known this, I would have ordered the next smaller size as there is way too much room around the salad plates. They appear to be very sturdy however and I love the overall design and color. I have already ordered a couple of matching pieces. Waiting to see if the dimensions are accurate for those. Read more

I wanted a way to store my Christmas dishes/glasses, but make them easily accessible. In years past, I have packed them up in boxes and stuck them away and then had to go digging through several boxes to see what was what. These containers have little windows you can visualize what is in there. The little separators that come with the box are very nice and the handles make it easy to pick up and move. I have a whole shelf of these little boxes now with a variety of sizes . I really like them. Read more
