Enhanced Security While Driving
This is a tool that enables you to record what's happening while driving. This camera begins video recording when the vehicle is started and stops recording when the vehicle is turned off. It is powered by a cigarette lighter plug. This device comes with two cameras. One for the front and one for the rear. The front camera sticks to the front windshield and can be adjusted up or down as needed. The cable I received is long enough to reach from behind the rearview mirror to the location of the power port on the dashboard with a little extra cable. I ran the cable behind the sun visor, down the column on the right of the windshield, through the glove box and to the power source in the center console of the Mazda CX-5. The cord is visible if you look for it, but generally unnoticed. Both the front and rear camera are plug-and-play for basic operation. You will need to install an App on your phone to access the camera's videos and settings. I was unable to connect to the camera with Apple CarPlay active, so I deactivated CarPlay and could connect without issue. I live in the southwest United States with intense heat even in the winter and I have not had any problems with the device overheating. The camera is easy to use, and you can get started with it fairly quickly. The App is simple to use, and the default settings will work in most instances. The only real challenge is properly hiding the cables, so they cannot be seen. They provide a tool to push the cable into the liners, but it is not very effective. The only real way is to remove the liners inside your car to hide the cables. You can also purchase cable clips that allow you to clip the cables out of the way. Overall, I would give this device a high rating for its price, ease of use, and performance. Read more
