I started a new job this week and the monitor on my desk was so low it was making my neck hurt by the end of the day. This little beauty was well priced and I thought I would give it a try. It is perfect. Not only is it small enough to not be obtrusive on my rather small desk, but it was so simple to put together and the adjustable heights made it absolutely perfect for my height needs. It’s sturdy, well-built, and allows me to adjust the height in three different levels, which really helps reduce neck and eye strain. I’m not using this stand for its precise intended purpose. I work from home and have a company laptop on my desk, folded closed and set between dual monitors that connect via a docking station built into one monitor. The computer is (understandably) locked down by the company, so I can’t utilize for personal purposes (can’t download programs; web sites are filtered/monitored, etc.). But there is no room left on my desk for a personal computer of my own. My solution was to buy a second laptop that can also connect to the dock so I have the full dual monitor/keyboard/mouse set up on a personal machine I can use for anything I want. But the only real space on the desk is right where the work laptop sits, longitudinally between the docked monitors. I measured carefully, measured again, and calculated that this shelf would fit *over* the work laptop and allow me to set the new personal machine (also folded closed) on top. Worked like a charm. Now both laptops sit between the monitors, and I can just switch which one is docked with a single plug. The shelf is sturdy and well-ventilated and blends seamlessly into the desktop. Ordered this riser this morning and received it this afternoon 😀It is a sturdy little riser. Very, very easy to assemble. I just unpacked it and screwed the legs on and that was it, ready to use. The leg heights are adjustable, but I didn’t need to because they were already at the perfect height for my use. I needed the riser to sit my cable box & blu-ray player on it. My sound bar is so wide I could not center it in front of the TV because the TV infra red remote signal is on the bottom right of the TV & the sound bar hides it making it unable use the remote to turn on the TV - and positioning the sound bar to the left makes me unable to use the remote on the cable box. So by putting the cable box & blu-ray player on the riser, I could slide the soundbar to the left of the TV so it does not hide the remote control infra red remote signal on the TV. So now the remote control operates all three - TV, cable box & blu-ray with no problems. 😀 So far, I love the riser, the size, price and it’s well made & very, very easy to assemble. ( if you’re thinking hanging the TV on the wall would’ve solved the problem, you’re right. But I didn’t want to put screws in the wall 😀) Read more
