Good cords

Good pair of cords for casual wear. I purchased a previous pair of Flint and Tinder Cords a couple years ago, and these fit the same (even though the country of manufacture has changed). a 34" inch waist size fits a slightly larger (36") true waist sized person. The only difference is the addition of rivets add the edges of the front pockets similar to many jeans, which seems fine by me. Please note that the black color is not quite as dark as pictured, but it's still a nice addition to a wardrobe that should go well with other colors. Read more

Finally found a pair of cords I want to keep wearing

First, let it be known that I absolutely love Flint & Tinder stuff. I say this to acknowledge any potential bias in my writing. However, I will also say that, objectively speaking, everything with their name on it is really well made. For those that aren't familiar, they F&T is Huckberry's 'house brand', and I can't say that I've bought anything from them that I don't like, that I don't wear on a regular basis. These cords fall in line with everything else. That said, here we go... I’ve had a weird relationship with corduroy over the years. I've always liked the idea of it more than the reality. There are many reasons for this, ranging from too stiff to too loud to “trying something new in 8th grade.” Most pairs I’ve owned either felt like work pants pretending to be casual or casual pants pretending to be something more refined. These land in a much better place. The fabric is the first thing that stands out. It’s soft right out of the Huckberry bag. There wasn't any break-in period where it feels like you're wearing upholstery. There’s enough structure that they hold their shape, but they don’t feel stiff or restrictive. The wale is subtle, not overly chunky, which I think helps a lot. They read more like a textured pant than “Hey, look at these corduroys.” The fit is really great. I usually wear somewhere between a 32-33in waist and 30-32 in length. At 5'10, I’m in that middle ground where pants can go either too slim or too relaxed, and these avoid both, though they ARE a little more relaxed than I'm used to. That's not a bad thing; it's just most of my other pairs of pants lean into slim territory (because of my pretty thin legs) where as these are meant to be more relaxed. They sit clean through the thigh, taper just enough, and don’t stack in a weird way at the ankle. I can wear them with sneakers and a tee and feel casual, or throw on boots and something heavier up top and they hold their own. One thing to call out here is that given they are a more relaxed fit, I can't speak for how 'stretchy' they are, though when I pull on them, they seem to have a little bit of give. Another great thing about them is that they're not just cold-weather-only pants. I’ve worn them on milder days and they breathe better than you’d expect. They don’t have the heavy, suffocating feel some corduroy can have. I’ve been wearing them in pretty normal, everyday situations, which means I'm working from home, running errands, grabbing coffee, walking the dogs, grabbing drinks with friends, etc. They've worked well in all of them. Some of that is beacuse they don’t feel precious. Some pants like htis make you feel like you need to be careful with them, but these don't. They feel like they’re meant to be worn, washed, and worn again without falling apart or losing their shape after a few cycles. If I have to nitpick, if you want something bold or fashion-forward, these aren’t it. But I’d argue that’s why they’re good. They look nicer than most pants of the same type, but they don't stick out either. At this point, they’ve kind of replaced a couple pairs of jeans in my rotation, which was not something I expected. That's impressive, given that I'm a non-fussy jeans guy. Read more

VERY well made durable quality pants. Waist runs a bit large. May shrink?

These pants are extremely well made. Durable heavier weight substantial material, quality stitching and design. Nothing flimsy, thin, or cheap about these. Despite the beefy construction they are very comfortable and the corduroy is soft. Huckberry Flint and Tinder makes exceptionally nice clothes and these pants are no exception. I would say the waist size does run slightly big, so if between sizes no need to order up. Anyone on a thinner waist/lanky body type may be able to order down a waist size? These are 98% cotton so perhaps the generous waist is to accommodate shrinking after washing? So far these haven't shrunk, with machine wash cold and hanging them up to dry. These are nice enough to gift. Would recommend. Read more

Can’t beat the quality !

10-year-old American company Flint and Tinder Huckaberry cords absolutely never disappoint. Be sure to order your correct size. There is very little forgiveness if you order too small. Well-made. Total transparency interior label indicates they were made in China. So, I’m not sure if the company outsourced or what. In an event, quality pants. Straight fit . Again, you must order the correct size. The color is awesome. The look is traditional and classic. Rivots at pockets edges. Metal clasp ! Not cheap plastic. I have no complaints and offer a five star rating. Corduroys are not for everyone. But, I have a wide variety of different colors and again, total classic look. Read more

Good Quality Corduroy Jeans

I’ve had a few items from this brand, and I’m always pleased. These corduroy jeans are no different. Usually, this brand has been pricier, but this pair is on par with other quality manufacturers. They fit true to size, but they’re a bit roomy on my son. The straight legs look a little long, but I’m told that’s the style. The color is great and can be dressed up or down. They are a little dressier and warmer than a pair of denim jeans. It is correct they are soft out of the bag and ready to wear. Well made and recommended. Read more
