Arrived quicker than expected. Instructions were superb. Packaging was excellent and all small parts were logically separated according to assembly stages. Overall quality and design are impressive, especially at this price point. First I installed a fan-rated junction box from Home Depot for a safe mounting point to start with (you don’t want to take any shortcuts with a ceiling fan). Then, I took my time installing it to ensure quality results. Had the usual re-reads of the instructions at certain points where it seemed a little tricky (to be expected), but nothing an experienced DIY’er can’t cope with, and the documentation was accurate and got me through those areas. When I threw the switch for the first time I got some wobble on the high setting, but again took my time with the supplied balancing kit to ferret out where the stick-on weights would go, and now there is absolutely no wobble at all at any speed. The fan is super quiet and smooth — such a huge upgrade over the very good freestanding fans we’ve been used to. On the high-speed setting we can hear the air moving a bit, because it’s moving a substantial amount of air, but it is still very quiet. However, on the middle-speed setting it is dead quiet, while still moving an impressive amount of air. This is a bedroom install, so I doubt we’ll go past the middle speed setting, which is absolutely perfect. On an added note, the fan blades were a pleasant surprise (white on one side and beech/maple wood print on the other). Thought the whole thing would be white, but opted for the wood print instead to accentuate the blades and break up the all-white look, and it went well with our Scandinavian furniture. The frosted light shades were a pleasant surprise, too. Not a bit gaudy, thankfully; the whole presentation would actually blend well with just about any decor — not overly modern, but also not overly ornate. Now I’m thinking of repeating this process for our two other bedrooms (offices), which get a lot of direct sun in the afternoon. Definitely opting for this exact same model. Just an excellent product for anyone who is up for installing it correctly. Thank you, Hunter, for producing such a well thought out product at a reasonable price. Read more

I read a lot of reviews, some of which suggested a hum or other anomalous sound. I found this NOT to be the case. I bought 3 of them and mounted them in three different rooms. None of them make any extraneous noise. I also had read that the fan speed was not fast enough, or that there were other performance issues. Again, I found this NOT to be the case. All 3 of my fans perform flawlessly. One of my fans was missing one of the two pull chains that come out of the main unit (not the extension chain). I was very unhappy with Hunter's customer service, since after three calls, nobody ever answered the phone. I spent a long time on hold. The GOOD NEWS is, however, that I simply reported the problem to Amazon, who "overnight shipped" a replacement fan to me, and gave me the shipping label (and 30 days) to return the faulty unit. This, to me, made the problem a complete non-issue. Am I happy - you bet your bottom dollar I am. All fans were very easy to assemble (which, contrary to others who were miffed at this, I found to be a bit of a fun project). The instructions included several methods of electrical assembly, which worked nicely for me since I rent and want to take them with me when I move - so I was able to wire each of them to their own respective 16 gauge heavy duty extension cord and plug them into wall outlets. I'll spare you my other mounting details, since I'm sure very few buyers have the same chalet style exposed roof beams that I have, which allowed me to fabricate my own 4 screw mounting units. But, if you can find a way to contact me, I'll be happy to share my approach. I've attached a photo though, so you can see. Ignore the cord, since that was a sloppy mount to get them running. I've since used a spool of color coordinated 16 gauge wire to hide the cords along the ceiling contours. ;) Anyway - I highly recommend these fans. They are pretty - yet masculine in appearance, the lights are bright enough for my needs, and I'd make the purchase again in a second if I needed to. Read more

I love this fan! We just replaced our outdated bedroom ceiling fan with this one and here is what we like/dislike about it: Pros: -looks great - simple yet current - Great oil rubbed bronze color - nice quality - from the blades to the motor base it all feels solid - great instructions! This had probably the best instructions - very easy to follow to put up yourself - Quiet! Did I mention it is quiet? Can't even hear it even when on high setting - Can be mounted on angled ceiling as long as angle is within the range (directions comes with how to test the angle). Our bedroom ceiling is cathedral and we were happy it was within the allotted angle and we didn't need an angle mount adapter. Cons: - has smaller light bulb adapter (this does come with 3 bulbs and I was glad for that because we don't have any with the smaller size base as we have a stock of light bulbs that are standard base. This really isn't a major con as it produces a lot of light with the smaller bulbs but just means you will need to purchase smaller bulbs to have on hand for one when goes out. Love this fan! Great price on Amazon. Great seller- it arrived in 2 days. Hunter is an excellent company and we have a couple other Hunter brand fans in our house so we bought with confidence in the quality we were getting. Read more

Very quiet and beautiful fan. I may be reaching but this has been the easiest fan installation I have done in the 10 years I have lived in my home. I am well aware of the quality and beauty of Hunter fans. I have had to two desk top Hunter fans for 12 years and they run 24-7 in two bedrooms (besides when we shut them down to clean them). This was an amazing experience and If this last anywhere near what my desk top fans have then I will be happy. But seriously thinking of replacing the other four ceiling fans in my house for Hunters. Two of the Hampton bays we have are extremely loud out of the box. Read more
