I sized up so that it would not be a skin tight fit. I usually wear a XL (6' tall with a large chest) but I sized up to a XXL and that was a perfect fit. Not too tight. Size was perfect however this rash guard isnt one of those that's like super fit and clings to your body. In that regard, I'd say it's flattering because it does not cling to every curve and crease of the body. LOL It's light weight and perfect for paddle boarding in the California heat. I typically wear a size large but purchased in a size x-large. I prefer looser fit clothing. I recommend sizing up from your usual size unless you want it to be form fitted. If you want it to be loose then size up. This is my second Hurley rash guard because I wanted another color. I love these and they are priced fairly.
