I've been searching for a good sheet set for a couple years now, since Bed Bath and Beyond killed the Wamsutta brand I have been unable to find what I'm looking for. I'm cautiously optimistic that these might be it. I've been looking for sheets that: + High thread count with a very smooth texture + Thick/heavy, not so thin that they feel like I'm going to tear them when I stretch the fitted sheet over the mattress + Durable to survive 3 or 4 years at least (2 sets in rotation, washed weekly, so 1 year is 26 weeks of use and 26 wash cycles) + Fitted sheet has strong elastic, fits over an oversized mattress and stays tight, and stays strong for the lifetime of the sheet + Fabric doesn't stretch/pill/fray with washing I had been happy with the Wamsutta Dreamzone 1000 sheets, but they've been off the market for a couple years now and the two sets I have are at the end of their life. After just one wash and the first week of use these seem to fit the bill. The sheets are smooth and comfortable, the fitted sheet is staying put and tight, not trying to pull away from the corner and form itself into a wad in the middle of the bed. We'll see how they do after a dozen or so trips through the use/wash cycle. The sheets are quite heavy - probably double the weight of others I've tried - I was actually surprised how heavy the Amazon box was when I picked it up. My two minor complaints at the moment are: + There are no little tags on the fitted sheet to indicate long-side vs. short-side. Many other brands sew a little tag somewhere on each side, which is super handy because a Cal-King bed is close enough to square that it's hard to tell just looking at the sheet which side is which. It should be a 50/50 chance to pick right, but my luck causes me to pick wrong about 90% of the time, so the tag would be very helpful. + I would prefer "envelope" style pillow cases. These are just plain straight pillow cases, and they seem to be 4-6" longer than most others. They fit fine, just a little extra long, maybe there are some King pillows that are longer than mine. UPDATE after a bit over a year: These sheets and definitely shrink. It was especially noticeable with the pillow cases after the first wash, but the flat sheet also clearly is shorter now than it was when new. The fitted sheet gets stretched every time it goes onto the bed so I think that counter-acts the shrinkage a bit but the flat sheet is now too short to tuck in at the bottom of the bed. Oddly the width seems the same more or less, it's shrinking in one direction only? I don't know how shrinkage works I guess but that seems weird, and we all know nobody likes shrinkage. Other than the shrinkage these have held up well after a year, there is no sign of the fabric getting thin or developing runs or weak spots or anything. Notes on size: These claim to be deep-pocket, my mattress is 12" high and the fitted sheet is just barely the right size to handle that. The claim of working for up to 18" is way off, 12" is the max The flat sheet, especially after the shrinkage, is way too short, I'd like at least another 12-18" to allow it to tuck in at the bottom and still have enough left to fold over a bit at the top. The width is fine, although another few inches of width wouldn't hurt anything. The king pillow cases have shrunk enough that they just barely cover the pillows, they started out quite a bit too large so I guess the shrinkage was planned but another 2" or so would be good. This is for a California King bed. Read more

2025 Update: Something has changed with the sizing on these sheets since my last purchase in 2020. My Cali-King mattress corners are 16.5" deep and for whatever reason the latest 2 sets of sheets I just bought in January 2025 the fitted sheets does not fit the corners or wrap under the length of my matress like the original sets I bought back in 2020. I also checked the latest reviews here and see where others have complained about the same issue. The weight and quality of the fabric itself doesn't appear to have changed since my original purchase but unfortunately, the size has and that just won't work for me. I really loved these sheets so I'm pretty disappointed that I'm forced to find a different brand. Original 2020 review: I just switched from a queen to a Cali King bed and finding good quality sheets has been a challenge. I am a bit of a sheet snob, I admit it and the thought of buying sheets online without feeling them first was hard for me. I have slept in Egyptian cotton, bamboo, sateen, flannel, polyester, and thread counts ranging anywhere from 200tc to 1500tc, you name it I've probably had them! And for me personally, I prefer the feel of a sturdy/heavier crisp cotton sheet to sleep in above all. For years my go-to sheets have been Fieldcrest, Peacock Alley and eveb the Supima Cotton Co. made specifically for Costco. However, now that I'm in a Cali King bed, finding sheets or ones that will fit the corners of my almost 17" matress without breaking the bank has been a challenge. So I happened to see these Hyde Lane sheets and figured I would try them since they say the pockets will fit up to a 20" corner. When I received and opened them I was quite impressed as they did feel nice and sturdy. I washed and dried them and got them on my bed. The fitted sheet easily does cover my deep matress with room to spare. The elastic sewn completley around the fitted sheet has kept it from riding up on the sides or corners. It stays nice and tight which I appreciate. The flat sheet has a nice finished embroidered fold over. If I had to find any flaw it would only be that I would've liked to have had the pillow cases have the envelope closures but that has nothing to do with the overall great comfort of these sheets. Sturdy and soft (especially after washing). I believe that the quality of these sheets far exceed the cost! I immediately went back and ordered another set in the gray. I can't say for sure if these truly are 1000tc but they are definitely quite thick. I am a very hot sleeper. I must have my room at a cool temp to sleep well and these sheets don't make me wake up sweating or feeling the need to tear off my top blanket to cool down. For now, these are my new go-to sheets and at this price I am more than happy with them! Oh yes, and please note. These are cotton so they do wrinkle out of the dryer. I am not one to take an iron to my sheets but if that's a deal breaker then you will need to iron them or definitely look elsewhere. I've added pics to show the fit around the corners of my matress, the embroidery and sewn elastic all the way around the fitted sheet. The last pic is the sheet pulled over my hand tight to try and show the sturdiness and thickness. Hope this helps!! Read more

The media could not be loaded. When I first got these, I loved the way they felt. They were so nice and thick and I love 100% cotton sheets. I have a 16 inch mattress and they fit with plenty of room to spare plus I loved that the elastic goes all the way around—Not just on the corners. Unfortunately, the first time I wash them in my HE, Front loader LG washing machine on the ‘bedding’ setting,, they no longer fit my 16 inch mattress. My daughter had just moved into her first apartment and bought a 12 inch pillow top mattress so we tried them on her bed and they fit like a charm. Had gotten dusty in transport so she washed them again and this time the corners stuck out like party hats and the sheep was not able to be stretched around the 12 inch mattress. Needless to say, I am returning them. I was so excited When I found these sheets…but then Miserably disappointed By how much they shrunk. Boooo. Long staple cotton—not even a little bit. Hyde Lane you should be ashamed of yourselves. Read more
