Bought this for my daughter after being pleased with the one I bought my son in November. It holds a lot of water, keeps it cold and is great for school! It is heavy when filled and I thought it might bother them adding that to full backpacks, but they don’t seem to mind. My kids are 11 and 12. Needless to say, they can be rough on things. When thinking of purchasing a durable and long lasting insulated water canister I was torn as to what to purchase. When I received the product it was minorly damaged but costumer service was willing to send a replacement ,which i respectfully declined because I believe the integrity of the vacuum was fine, and I wanted to use it. With Hydroflask's powder coating and extremely durable construction I can say that this product can take some damage and manage to keep ice frozen for an entire day, even when the Hydroflask's is placed in the 85 degree heat for numerous hours. I might be the last of my friends who jumped on the hydro flask band wagon (mostly because I felt like it was more on the expensive side). I finally gave in but it was absolutely worth it. I bought the 40 oz wide mouth white one and I love it. I keep it in my room and use it everyday to remind me to drink water. With ice in it, the water stays cold well over 24 hours just like the product description says. I haven't used it for hot liquids since this is my "everday water cup". It really makes me want to buy a few more...a slightly smaller one to keep in my purse, another extra large one specifically for hot liquids like coffee and tea to take on road trips or to and from work. I haven't convinced myself just yet but I'm sure I eventually will. The only product that I've ever purchased that was similar to this was a Contigo stainless steel double wall insulated travel coffee mug (which is also a great 5 star product) so I don't have much to compare it to. I'd like to know how it stacks up against some of the Japanese brands like Tiger or Zojirushi but I haven't bought either of those yet to get an accurate comparison. Hydro Flasks are great quality products so there was no doubt that the quality was good. At the same time, it’s pricey. Hence my one star removed. My main reason is because I bought Thermo Flask from Costco. Half the price but just the same quality. Honestly, that deserves the five stars because it’s more bang for the buck. My daughter bought it for the brand, not the product itself. Since it’s Christmas, Santa delivered. It does do its job by maintaining cold filtered water for my daughter throughout the day. I am a self proclaimed water bottle fanatic. I waited a while to buy this for a few reasons. My biggest concern was the possible metal taste. Remember there was a huge metal water bottle craze? I hated it, all my water tasted horrible. My other concern was it being worth the price. The cost is worth it. Living in the desert, it can get extremely hot in cars, but I don't have to worry about it with the Hydro Flask. I've even had ice in my bottle and it didn't melt. The metal taste is there initially but about 1/10th of what usual metal bottles tasted like. I actually don't taste it any more and I've had the bottle for about 3 weeks now. I do have a few dislikes. The bottle is huge and can be a bit hard to hold, sometimes I gotta use both hands to drink out of it. Granted, I ordered a large bottle (40oz), so of course how can it not be big, but I will likely order one of those silicon covers to help me grip it better. It is also too big to hold in my cup holder in my car. I usually don't have a passenger in my car, so it works for me for now, but eventually I'll get the cup holder. So you will spend some extra money outside of just the bottle. Total, I'm sure I'll invest about $100 including the actual Hydro Flask. But I think it's worth it. I'm going to toss a few older bottles that are extremely lame in comparison to the Hydro Flask. Read more

This may very well be the highest rated product on Amazon that DOESN'T bribe people with free products. When you buy one, it's clear to see why. Everything about these canteens are first class. The outside is easy to grip, the inside and rim are easy to clean. The cap is great; no leaks, goes on/off easily. The wide mouth is the perfect size for chugging! I haven't tested whether or not it keeps liquids cold for longer than 3 or 4 hours, but it certainly keeps them cold up to that point. Highly recommend. Read more

Love this Hydro Flask!! It is just what I wanted and expected! Had the 32 oz. before so I knew the 40 oz. was bigger and longer. I wanted a 40 oz and finally decided to splurge and got a straw top which made it perfect! The white is also nice because you would think it gets dirty easily but that is not the case everything wipes away or if not put some soap and water and it washes away!
