Best Aquarium Heater on the Market
Best EVER heater for aquariums. I have tried 5 different brands, this being the fifth one. Call me crazy, but I'm extremely paranoid when it comes to my pets. I've read horror stories about heaters breaking, zapping fish, or overheating and cooking fish. Any time a heater has any kind of temperature issues or temperature control issues, I throw it in a box and return it. I don't play when it comes to my creatures' safety. I had three heaters, two of which were brand new, that we're heating to higher temperatures than I was setting. In addition, they would constantly turn on and off before reaching the desired temperature, taking a long time to heat up. I would have to adjust these heaters constantly depending on my room temperature, but not with this one. This heater heats quickly and doesn't burn you or any fish. I've previously touched my heaters before in the tank while they were running and got scorched. Imagine if a small fish touched that. Oh no!!! While you can buy a plastic heater guard for these traditional heaters, they cost $15-25 for each guard. Yikes! That's as much as the heater itself! This one has a plastic guard built-in with it's design already. Genius. I can touch the heater without being burned and so now I'm sure my fish and snails will not be burned. It also has a remote to make it easy to adjust the temperature without putting your hand in the water. I do notice the thermostat reads 2 degrees lower than my regular tank thermostat, so I set the water to 76F degrees and it achieves a consistent heating of 78F degrees for the tank. Although this is a minor inconvenience, the pros far outweigh the cons. Every day it's kept the tank at a consistent temperature and I don't feel scared to constantly check the temperature like how my other heaters had me checking. Love LOVE this heater and will be buying the 100w and 200w versions for my 20 gallon and 30 gallon tanks. My 50w heater here pictured is in my 10 gallon Betta tank. Read more
