Good Car Cover with Zippered Driver Side Door
I’m using this cover on an older Nissan 350 that’s 23” shorter than the length of this car cover. So although there are pockets for the mirrors, they don’t lineup on my car. If I do attempt a line them up then the cover doesn’t fit the car not a big deal for me. Just wanted to point that out for those who prefer that the mirror pockets line up with their vehicle's mirrors. There are four tire covers that fasten to the main tarp using Velcro and an elastic cord. The cord is placed behind the tire and there's hook and loop velcro on the wheel cover that attached to the main car cover and it fastens securely. Since this cover is designed to fit a wide range of vehicles there may be some issues with appearance for those who prefer a nice tight looking fit. But a loose fit is normal if a cover isn’t custom fit to your specific vehicle. Although by using ropes it is possible to get a tight fit on most cars. There’s an elastic cord that goes across the width of the front and back of the car cover that can be pulled partially under the vehicle to better secure the ends of the cover for wind resistance. There’s also a grommet midway on both sides of the cover that a rope can be pulled through to tie the sides together. That rope could also be used to fasten the two elastic cords at the front and rear of the vehicle for a more secure fit. One feature I really like is the driver side door feature. I’ve not had that on any of my other car covers and that’s a huge plus for those times when you need to get into the vehicle for whatever reason. Additionally, the zipper was so well hidden that I missed it at first, so it really blends in well with the cover it has. NOTABLE MEASUREMENTS My car is 170" long and this cover is 193" but I'm still satisfied with the fit on my car. For reference, the driver's side door zipper is approximately 77" from the front end of the car cover itself. So on my car, the door zipper is actually 17" in front of the driver side door jamb but that doesn't matter because of how long the zipper is (about 3 feet.) So ti opens the tarp up enough that I can easily open my driver side door and enter the car to do whatever I need to do. There are sections of hook and loop velcro on the main tarp that the tire covers attach to and are almost 37" long. This allows for about a 3' area to attach the tire covers so it can accommodate a wide range of wheelbases and not have to worry about the tire covers fitting your vehicle specifically. PROS -There's a door zipper built into this car cover on the driver's side door that allows you to open the driver's door and enter the vehicle. -The door zipper opens the main cover up enough that you should be able to open the driver side door and enter most vehicles. -The area of the main cover that you can attach the tire covers to is about 3' long and will therefore accommodate a wide range of vehicle wheelbases. -There are mirror pockets to accommodate the door mirrors. CONS -The door zipper does not line up with the door jamb on my 2004 Nissan 350, it's about 17" in front of the door jamb. However I can still make use of it regardless. My car is 170" long and this car cover is 193". -The mirror pockets do not line up with a 2004 Nissan 350. Overall, I like the appearance, design, feature and quality of this car cover and am satisfied with how it fits my car and it looks and feels durable. We had an inch of rain recently along with high winds and the cover stayed in place. But how it wears over time remains to be seen and I’ll update this review accordingly if need be. Another important feature is that the material is breathable. That’s especially important in areas of humidity and if the vehicle is in grass as it is right now in my case until I can get the car on concrete. You do not want to use a non-breathable cover on your vehicle and it's best to park on concrete or asphalt to mitigate the impact of humidity. Read more
