The Identiv SCR3310v2.0 USB smart card reader works flawlessly for secure logins and ID authentication. Setup was quick with plug-and-play support, and it was recognized immediately by my system. The reader feels sturdy and well built, and it reads CAC, PIV, and other smart cards accurately every time. It’s compact, dependable, and ideal for government, work-from-home, or security applications. Overall, this is a solid USB smart card reader that performs reliably and consistently. Read more

I bought this CAC card reader over six years ago when I was in the military to use on my personal computer, and I’m still using the same one today! It was way less expensive than the ones at the BX, and honestly, I think it works even better. It’s been totally reliable — no compatibility issues at all. I’ve used it on multiple Windows laptops without any problems. The reader is still just as fast and smooth as when I first got it, which is better than the built-in readers I’ve tried before. Size-wise, it’s perfect for my ID card and doesn’t take up a lot of space. It fits easily in my computer bag pocket so I can take it anywhere. The cable length is pretty short, but I’ve always left the plastic tie on and never needed to undo it since I usually plug it right into the laptop. If you wanted to run it from the back of a desktop up to your desk, it might be a little tight. Overall, this has been an awesome investment and I’d recommend it to anyone who needs a CAC reader for personal use! Read more

I bought three of these. It is compact, CCID-class so modern OSes usually recognize it without a driver hunt, and plays nicely with common PIV/CAC middleware. Performance is solid for day-to-day auth: insert card, PIN, done. No bloated utilities, no weird tray apps, and the build is sturdier than its plastic shell suggests. It can be finicky through certain hubs or long extension cables (direct-to-host tends to be most reliable). There’s no dust cover and no cable strain relief. But other than those quirks, they are a decent little smart card reader. Read more
