I've had this type of floor covering previously. It's water resistant (bamboo with a "varnish" type coating. Hides a lot of wear. I've had one in my guest bathroom coming in from the garage and it has worn well. The backing is a cloth material with a sturdy edging covered by cloth. It does not move around. My golden retriever gets very upset with storms and often pees in the house if I can't get him outside before a storm. When this was his spot to empty, I simply wiped it off and spot cleaned and then took outside to hose it down. Good quality ( not flimsy) , looks nice, light. I recommend. Read more

Bought two in 2019, bought three replacements in 2022, buying two more replacements in 2025. They have a 2-3 year lifespan under normal use (in front of bathroom sinks) before the bamboo in the direct center of the mat begins to splinter, then peel off, leaving a splinterly center gap. This has happened to ALL of them, exactly the same way. The fabric edging also fades to a pale moss green over time. That said, I keep buying them because they feel good to walk on, are almost smooth to the ground (you don't step up onto them), and are warmer than cold stone or tile. They don't slide around like many mats, and being bamboo instead of fabric, they never look or feel dirty while giving the bathroom an updated, modern look. I took one star off since the center bamboo piece always eventually comes off meaning a shorter lifespan than, say, a regular bathmat rug. But I'll keep buying them! Especially for the price! This is one of those purchases that went way beyond my expectations. It is a wonderful mat that brings the room together and provides smooth comfort to my feet every time I step on it. The trim is well made with sturdy stitching and lends a nice finish to the bamboo slats. One particularly great feature is that it does not pull up when I run a vacuum over it, unlike area rugs that tend to get caught in the rotating brush. It seems water resistant as I dropped ice on it without issue. It’s easy to handle and it looks more expensive than it actually costs. I put this one in the kitchen, but it impressed me so much that I purchased a second InterDesign Bamboo Floor Mat that I plan to use for decorative purposes elsewhere. ~ Kort Read more

I really wanted an actual wood slat mat, but this was so inexpensive and I was impatient to just place an order to get my new bathroom set up. It was still in my basket when I submitted my order for a shower organizer and some towels ... I don't think I even ordered it on purpose and might have removed it from my cart if I had noticed it was still there. That said, I am surprised at how nice this mat is given how inexpensive it was. I love it. 1. It looks like an actual wood slatted mat. Yes, it's flat on the floor, but it still looks like wood. 2. It's large 3. It doesn't slip 4. It's actually just very nice and fits into a spa theme. I'm really glad that I ordered this and not a bulky thick wood "mat." The fact that it can roll up and be put away or hand over the side of the tub is a nice bonus. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again or recommend it. Read more

My home has hardwood floors in the kitchen, so I obviously need to protect them, but I also hated having little area rugs that need to be vacuumed, and would slip and slide everywhere. These are PERFECT. I can just shake crumbs or dirt off, or wipe with a paper towel if they’re wet. They DO NOT SLIDE! And they lay FLAT! They match really well with my floors so they blend in very seamlessly. They’re beautiful! Definitely recommend! Read more

I wanted to try out a bamboo mat in my bathroom but wasn’t sure how it would work with the rest of the style. So, I decided to buy something cheap just to try out the look. For the price, it’s really not a bad product. It does not have an expensive look, but it looks decent enough for the price. It does have a shine to it, which makes it look less high end, but you can wash it off. It is very thin and flat but does the trick. There is fabric on the bottom to absorb water and to prevent the mat from slipping. The surface is also slip free. My two cents to the manufacturers would be; use a different color lining. Adding a black, navy blue or dark green lining can really lift the look of the mat and give it a more expensive look. Also, maybe offer the mat in two different finishes; matt and shiny. The shine on the mat definitely makes it look plastic-y. If you have light colored floors, don’t buy it. The mat just blends in. If you have dark colored floors, the mat will look nice. Read more
