As in previous reviews, it was folded in shipment and does have a strong plastic smell, however, I tossed it in the clothes dryer on a regular setting for 4-5 minutes and it came out perfectly flat and ready for use. The smell isn't as strong in the shower as any hair products and soap that is scented over-powers the plastic smell. As far as the size, while it doesn't fit the exact size of my shower stall, it does cover a good portion (as expected)and does the job of preventing my slipping. I don't generally stand on the far sides or corners of the stall anyway, so wherever I stand, I'm always on the mat, so the size works for me. The design is attractive and the suction cups keep it in place. I would/will recommend this product for anyone looking for a shower stall mat. Read more

The mat works as anticipated. It anchors itself well to the shower tiles and looks good. It does have a plastic odor that I was able to minimize. Read more

3 months ago I purchased the iDesign Pebblz Plastic Non-Slip Suction Shower mat for use in our travel trailer. The design is attractive, the size was right and I was even able to cut around the "pebbles" of one corner of the mat to fit our corner shower. Unfortunately it continues to emit a pungent chemical smell. When first received and the malodor perceived I washed it with dish soap and warm water then hung it up to dry in the shade. (It hung there for a week.) That did nothing to quell the stench. Since then I have tried soaking it in vinegar, soaking it in a mild bleach solution, hung it in the sun, hung it in the wind, hung it in the rain, washed it in the clothes washer and tumbled it in the dryer. It continues to stink. This product has been a waste of money (and time) because of the ceaseless acrid reek. Read more

Did not stick to textured floor in enclosed shower stall but worked in smooth bathtub-bummer as my elderly folks use shower stall and I bought it for safety. I now use it in the bathtub for my dogs bath time as they slide around in the slick tub. You do have to individually press in each suction cup for it to stick but who's got time for that?? I throw it down, wash pups, clean it up and roll it up and done. It's a great mat but be mindful of the floor in the shower or tub and also it doesn't lay down flat, most likely from being folded for shipping. Sorry but I wouldn't buy again. Read more

This shower mat was a good buy. It was a couple dollars cheaper than the same mat in stores and I was able to get amber color instead of just clear. The color(amber) of this mat is a match to what they show in the description. This is my second shower mat of this brand and the first one held up very well (well over a year), the only reason it was replaced was because it had begun to get stained (even though I cleaned it with bleach) and its cheap enough to just replace it. I purchased amber over clear or white because I figure it will show less stains from daily use. The suction of this mat is great, it doesn't slip or move unless you want it to (picking up a corner of it) so if you're buying it for safety reasons its definitely worthwhile. My only complaint and this is a complaint of every shower mat I've found is that the mat is much smaller than the area of my shower stall. In fact, this mat is actually larger than some of the other mats I've seen so I guess its the best you can get. Still wish it was another 4 or 5 inches bigger in each direction. For the options out there this mat is great, it's priced right, durable and useful. Read more

I bought this not for my shower, but for my oversized porcelain kitchen sink. I looked for a “sink mat” but even the larger ones were way too small. We had previously used a different tub mat cut down to size, but it was really old and had picked up stains that wouldn’t scrub or bleach out. So a new mat it was! I chose this one for a few reasons: 1. because of the color, stains won’t be a problem. 2. The relatively smooth texture means less food particles will get caught in it. 3. Because of the organic shapes of the pebbles, I knew I could cut it down without it looking odd. I just cut off the extra pebbles and reshaped a few around the edges. As you can see, I was successful in fitting it and roughly 24 hours after opening it, the folds are almost flat. BTW, for those who complained about the smell, that’s the smell of new plastic. It will disappear in a few days. Get over it. Read more

This is a great shower mat and it goes over the drain very nicely without a big hole in the mat so you don't have to always re-position it ever. The natural design of the mat has openings that drain the water very well. It is very comfortable to stand on and looks good too. Someone had written that it hurt her feet to stand on it - she must have very tender feet because it is very comfortable for me - no problem whatsoever. I do recommend this mat and the only regret that I have is that I bought one for a square shower and ours shower is rectangular - should have gotten a bigger one but it still works and keeps us from slipping.
