We like these pants because they look great. They have a nice feel. The only thing I would change is the elastic band along the top is too bulky and it makes the otherwise great pants look a little cheaper and more casual. I actually bought these pants for my teenage son, hoping it would grow with him because of the elastic. He also just needs easy dress pants for school so I thought these would work and they do, but they aren't totally ideal for a teenager, which is why I’m rating them four stars. Here is our breakdown: Pros: Easy Closure: The magnetic feature is fantastic and makes getting dressed a breeze. Huge win there! Comfort Factor: The elastic waist is incredibly comfortable, perfect for a teen who needs pants that work in the classroom or at recess on the basketball court. Decent Look: In navy, they pass the test for school dress and look pretty neat. Good Fit: The 32W x 32L size was spot on for a slim 16 year old in a growth spurt. Cons: A Bit Stuffy/Mature: The styling is definitely aimed at an older demographic. They look a bit more "senior-wear" than trendy teen fashion, so he’s not thrilled but fortunately not making a stink about it Fabric Feel: The material feels a little stiff and tends to wrinkle easily. I am not yet in my dotage. I don't know about you but once I felt I was only inching toward that phase of my life, but these days I feel like I am riding a bullet train barreling to meet it. But as of today, I can at least sleep comfortably knowing I can still look sharp regardless of how I am “progressing”. With nicely and carefully designed pants like this elastic waist pair of slacks we should be able to manage our respective images. Made of 100% polyester these pants feel and wear like standard issue. In addition to the three banded elastic waist there are also the familiar belt loops. However the waist has no break in it; the are slide up and down only. The elastic is not so tight as to cut off circulation but also not so loose as to have an impromptu showing of the family jewels. Instead of a zipper, there is a J-Stitch (the fly) and where the zipper would be there are two strong magnetic snaps that are so easy to align. They do the job without any odd looking bulges showing. They simply lay flat. As for pockets there are two deep side pockets and two snapped pockets in the rear. Right or left handed, it makes no difference when it comes to protecting your wallet. And once again the profile of the pants is not interrupted by any unsightly lines or ridges. The pockets when empty are virtually invisible. When they contain something there is a slight protuberance as with any pant. I wear a 36” X 30” and the length for me is perfect. The legs break right at the top of the insteps. And the waist is on the mark as well. These flat front pants (which did NOT come vacuum packed) are wrinkle resistant and happily machine washable. I have not laundered mine yet but I am willing to bet they come out looking like they did going in: neat and sharp, and ready to be hung up. As I mentioned at the beginning it is nice to know that as we continue to roll on down the line, we will still be attended to in the haberdashery market.
