This goes on very smooth. Zero clumping. I love the two brush sides. You will need two coats for a darker effect but it's worth it. I did have a slight smear on bottom lash halfway through the day (wearing concealer with powder) but I had that with my crappy mascara. And it wasn't a bad smear, easily removed with tissue or qtip. My eyes did not dry or itch from this! I have not had it long enough to know if it dries out quick or not like some reviewed. This mascara is lightweight and gives great length and lift without clumping. It feels nourishing on the lashes and doesn’t flake or smudge throughout the day. I have sensitive eyes, and this one works very well with no irritation. The soft black color looks natural and beautiful. Definitely a great everyday mascara. Read more

Best mascara I've ever found - clean/non-toxic, doesn't smudge, doesn't irritate my eyes, and makes my lashes thick and long without being clumpy or spider-leg like. I've tried so many mascaras over the years and this is by far my favorite. It also doesn't uncurl lashes after curling like really wet mascaras do. Honestly, it's the most perfect mascara I've ever used. I get compliments about my lashes all the time. Good mascara! Brown seems a little more soft which is what I was going for. Only applied a thin layer on top lashes in the photo. I typically wear Crunchi but I don’t like their mascara so I tried this. It applies well - good wand. Does burn a little if it runs. I’ll buy it again. Read more

This is the absolute best mascara I have ever used in the past 20 years. My lashes are sparse, short and old 😉 I've tried and thrown away dozens of mascaras ranging from inexpensive drug store brands to high end boutique brands. ILIA does NOT clump, smear, flake, irritate eyes but DOES go on smoothly, stays on all day and washes off cleanly with face wash and water. I won't have the extra long, curly full lashes that I had 45 years ago, but it enhances my look and I absolutely love it!! Read more

Before I go all negative on it, I can say for sure that the look it gives you is natural and AMAZING. I honestly wasn’t going to do a review on this mascara since i had stopped using it but as someone who wears 5 different mascara religiously (every single day), it would be a disservice to the girlies to not to do one. First thing, ITS NOT SMUDGE/WATER/DUSTPROOF. I wore it to see Inside Out 2 (where i cried), the mascara itself looks really great, especially because the brush has 2 different volume settings allowing me to mix and match my lashes but by the end of the movie I wiped my eye and there was nothing there. Like absolutely nothing. As much as it is a great advantage in taking your makeup off flawlessly, it’s not the best mascara if you’re an eye rubber or regular tear dropper. I work 12 hour shifts and use this mascara on my bottom lashes, not even 3 hours into my shift i see mascara dots on my under eye.. anyways. Second thing. Smell is so bad. That’s it. that’s the end of the sentence. that’s how bad the smell is. One thing i will say is, if you accidentally poke yourself or get it in your actual eye, you’ll be okay. overall ilia gets a 4/10 for me. Love this mascara! I was previously a Benefit girl but wanted something less toxic. Switched to this one and can attest that I still get good length and separation. It is not as durable but lasts a 14 hour day unless you cry. Read more
