We have foam toppers on all of our mattresses, but never got around to the guest bed. For anyone wanting a little more comfort (or new life) to their existing mattress I recommend they explore a topper like the IMOOY 3 INCH COOL GEL MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS TOPPER. I like that the IMOOY 3 INCH COOL GEL MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS TOPPER has a built in cover, so it does not feel like you just put a piece of industrial foam on your bed. In theory the cover is removable, but I’m sure it would be a nightmare to put it back on again after washing it, but I guess we will find out. The straps help keep the pad in place which is a nice touch. Like all foam products you should let it outgas for several days. If the weather is nice, we put it on the patio, otherwise the garage for a few days to a week. This is especially important if you have any aversions to strong odors. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend the IMOOY 3 INCH COOL GEL MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS TOPPER to anyone who wants to get a better night sleep without starting over with a brand new mattress.
