I bought these scales a replacement for my old scales that were giving 2 pound swings in weight when you would step on and then off. I hoped these new scales would not do that and they don't. The greatest deviation that I have seen while stepping on and then off and on again in rapid succession is .2 pounds. This scale is also very accurate. They are within .2 pounds of my doctors scales. They are very easy to use and the self-calibration feature is a joy and assures that you are receiving an accurate weight. I would highly recommend them to everyone who needs accurate weights. First, this scale is probably not like any other you have purchased. Before you even take it out of the box, find a permanent (or semi permanent) place for your scale on a hard flat surface. Every time you move your scale it must be recalibrated. The first time you use the scale you calibrate it by tapping on the scale first, then wait 3 seconds and weigh. If you do not move the scale, just step on the scale for an accurate weight. All my other scales had to be tapped before each use even if it wasn't moved. I moved my scale several times trying to find an evenly flat surface. After the first calibration I found calibrating much harder and needed to "stomp" on the scale to get it to calibrate. I'm glad I found a permanent spot as I did not like stomping on the scale and it seems to give a very accurate weight. My husband and I both really like this scale. Easy to read and accurate! I really like the way that the numbers illuminate when you stand on the scale as well as when it disappears when you step off of it. I like the sleek design and packaging as well as the easy battery install. I like the scale . . . it does either kilogram or pounds, but it doesn’t work on all surfaces. My bathroom floor is a cushiony vinyl and the weight doesn’t stabilize there. The scale works fine on my laminate flooring. Read more

I was looking for a highly accurate scale which would not remember my previous measurement then show it again to simmulate accuracy as many scales in the market do. The Answers section here states that this scale has no memory and is "accurate to the nearest 0.1 kg". Here is what I found after getting this scale. I measure my weight - got 90.0 kg (rounded this to simplify the further numbers). Then I added small weights +0.1 kg, +0.2 kg +0.3 kg +0.4 kg. Only at +0.4kg the scale would show 90.4kg. Before that it would constantly show 90.0 kg. Now reducing the weight, going back with additional +0.3 kg, +0.2kg +0.1kg weights the scale would show 90.4kg !!! Then with no additional weights on me it would jump back to 90.0 kg. Half of the time it may do better feeling +0.3kg, yet the pattern is the same. Conclusion: the practical accuracy is around 0.35 kg, the scale behaves as if it remembered the previous measurement and shows it if the new measurement is in the range of 0.35 kg of the old one. So in the end I cannot see how this "highly accurate" scale is better than the one I randomly bought 5 years ago in the drug store. Now I have two inaccurate scales instead of one. ======== Upd: The problem is resolved partly. As the Support explained, the previous weight is stored in the scale, and the scale would not react to the small difference in the weight (0.2 kg) from the previous measurement even if it could recognize it otherwise. For my scale, even 0.3 kg weight change would not help, but adding some 1 kg to my body would make the scale 'forget' my original weight and show the next time the correct new measurement not alligned with the previous one. So in the end I find the scale useful and better than the one I had previously, even though I originally expected it not to have any internal memory for the previously done meausurement. To get a right measurement I step on the scale with and without an additional weight of 1 kg and do it a number of times. It's a pain and it's ridiculous, but that is how it works. Most of the other scales on the market would probably do not better or worse (my prev scale is definitely worse) in this respect as they all are produced to not disturb a customer even with a slight imprecision, so they all have memory and all show the previous data if the measurement change is below some threshold of ~0.3 kg Read more

Awesome scale. The main thing I want in a scale is to read the same weight on any given day. My previous scales fluctuate by several pounds on measurements within a few seconds of one another. This scale is spot on within a tenth of a pound no matter how many times you step in and off. A bit more expensive than other scales, but for me well worth it. Absolute weight is not as critical to me - I just want to know and trust that my weight is trending in the right direction day after day. Even so the absolute number seems to be very close to correct as compared to the balance scale at my gym. One final thing that is important to me is aesthetics.
