I kept wanting to get a boom mic stand for my Hyper X Quadcast condenser mic to free up desk space, but I didn't want to shell out a ton of money. I was skeptical of this one at first because it was so cheap but it's surprisingly really sturdy and durable. I haven't had a single issue with it. It fit my mic just fine and was easy to assemble. I have it attached to my standing desk and it works just perfect for my setup. Looks cool too. I'm happy with the purchase! Read more

I picked up this arm the other day to help get my desk clean of the standing mic I had taking up valuable surface real estate. I looked at things like the Rode PSA1 which seems to be one of the more "standard" options at this point, but I'm not a podcaster, I just need a good setup for work meetings, gaming, and anything else I might need--but this is for home use, not a studio. Out of the box, the setup is very easy--it's mostly assembled, and all you need to do is attach the clamp to your desk or tabletop, pop in the actual arm itself, and attach your mic. For attachment, it does come with a thread adapter as well as an angled clip, but I didn't use either of these since I had another option for those already. They seem fine and straightforward, I'm not sure if more can really be said about them. The package also includes some teflon tape. I'm not sure how valuable this is. I noticed my mic was slipping a little and getting unscrewed easily, so I applied it, and things are a little more snug, but I honestly don't think it made much real difference. That said, it's a nice inclusion since the fit might not be perfect. The arm is easy to adjust, it holds in place even with a medium weight microphone. Running my XLR cable was fine, and made easier by the included 5 hook and loop fasteners. I do have a couple of little quirks with this arm that I'm still getting used to a little bit. One, it seems to wobble quite a bit when I type on the keyboard, even though it should be decoupled at least somewhat by distance from the surface. It's not a huge problem, and I am a heavy typist, so this is probably more my fault than anything, but it is noticeable. The only thing I need beyond that is to have a ball head on this mount point--it it a bit obnoxious that I can only rotate it one way, at the end. This happens to work okay for my mic setup, because I happen to angle it perpendicular to the way I want to point the mic. It would be nice if I could angle the mic up from its position, though. All in all, it's really hard to find too much fault with this thing for the price. I couldn't really expect much more from this price point. It may not last forever, but if I run into issues like that I'll upgrade when it makes sense. For now this is a solid entry level option for my needs. Read more

This is a nice arm, well made with tight tolerances and smooth edges. What I like is that it is low profile. The design is all hinges, so no wonky springs to deal with, but there is no real time height adjustment. Pick your height and lock it in with a wrench, then it's all smooth lateral movement to tuck it out of the way. The hidden wiring channels make this look clean with only the wire peeking out at the hinges. I just wish it had a deeper clamp so that I could have the base further in on my desk. My edges are not square so that I clamp down over an angled part. Even with mounting plates and shims to shore it up, it's not as stable as I would like. Read more

This boom mount is made of very high quality materials. Studio quality not flimsy cheap alloy with poorly designed joints like a few others we have around the office. Highly recommended. Read more

This arm definitely worked for my Quadcast and held it just fine, but you can definitely feel the cheapness of it. The mic flops around if you hit either side of it and the adjustment points become unloosened over time if you move it too much. The included cable management straps are good and it's super easy to route the cable too. Read more

I need to speak to the stand myself. I was surprised to see I had bought this boom arm well before the pandemic. Maybe I went through a phase of fancying myself a content creator back then? It ended up coming in exceptionally useful once the pandemic broke out and I had to record myself reading books for my young students after we had been sent home. I posted those readings on YouTube and some of them started spreading, getting me enough views for advertising incentives. I also used this while teaching online so I could show the students what I was doing in one window while still speaking to them directly in the other. I moved across the world and took a remote position managing content developers and continued using this boom for frequent remote meetings. I attached it to my desk, a bookshelf, and even packed it with me when I was working from other locations. Now, two continents and six homes later, this boom is permanently attached to a bookshelf near my couch, where it aids me in creating reviews (Iβm now a Vine reviewer, even though Iβm doing this one as an ordinary consumer who just happens to be impressed as heck with the durability of this thing) as well as serving as a gateway to my remote therapist. Looking back on this, I guess I did become a content creator in my own way. This boom has been yanked and twisted and through the paces constantly for seven years; it deserves a nod. Read more
