The media could not be loaded. My wife struggled to pull apart the Velcro seam in order to access the plastic strip that keeps the pre-installed batteries from draining prematurely. After she pulled out the plastic strip to engage the batteries, she gave the toy a shake to make it start. I wish everyone could have seen her reaction to this toy's violent shaking. Trust me. It's was hilarious to behold. We presented it to our 125 pound Dobie-Lab. At first he was unsure of what to make of it. Perhaps a little scared of it. It shakes hard and it's loud. He seemed relaxed about it after a few minutes, to the point he seemed to become indifferent to it. Then we encouraged him to "Go get it!" He obeyed, and from that point onward, his enjoyment with it blossomed in full. If we give it gentle "soccer" kicks to send it across the floor, then he chases it. But he also likes to bat at it with his front paws by his own volition, and then try to subdue it by clamping it in his mouth. Then he walks around with it proudly. Sometimes he gets it going just so he can bark and growl at it. Sometimes he lies down to gnaw at it. I don't know how long the novelty of this toy will last for him, but I think the his enjoyment is worth the price, even if only for a day. Hopefully he will enjoy it for months to come. It picks up dirt very easily, so plan on throwing the cover in the wash periodically. Read more

The new baby toy is not as good as the original toy that Mack, the Entlebucher Mountain dog has. For reference, that toy is Amazon asin BOD1298KF9, which is nicknamed “baby” and Mack loves his “baby” toy! This new toy’s cover is stronger and the velcro is much better, but the inside component is not as good as the original baby. The new one is obnoxiously loud but it needs to be shaken to be kept in motion whereas the original baby will keep on moving and singing for some time. Mack picks up the new toy as it makes its initial sounds but the sound stops since Mack just carries the new toy around. Surprisingly, this toy was not as much as a dud as the stick and silicone ball that he recently got. Mack played with those other new toys for a while but since he got the new baby, he lost interest since those other toys are not interactive. I had the bright idea to replace the new baby toy's internal motion/sound ball with the original baby's. Mack got excited since the sound and motion was continual. The only problem is that the new baby toy's outer covering is smaller and snugger than the original baby so it doesn't move/vibrate as well. So the search goes on for a backup “baby” toy for Mack! This interactive dog toy definitely grabbed my dog’s attention right away. The combination of sound and unpredictable movement from the battery-powered core had her totally intrigued, and the cushioned outer shell made it fun and easy for her to carry. However, there’s a major drawback—the outer shell material. While it feels soft and pleasant to the touch, it’s not durable enough for a dog toy. My pup didn’t even chew on it—just carrying it in her mouth was enough to puncture the fabric. Unfortunately, this led to a very short lifespan for the toy before it was showing tears and emitting stuffing. At this price point, I expected something that could hold up a bit better. It’s a great idea and really engaging, but the poor material choice makes it a costly option that doesn’t deliver long-term value. Read more

Upon arriving I opened the fabric around the ball and activated it. At first it would not turn on, then it would only turn on if I was rough with it. I put it down for the dogs. I have 5 small dogs. At first interaction one stayed completely away, one was curious, one was not scared but threatened maybe as he barked aggressively at it, and only one went to it and actually picked it up. Be could not get it to activate, I kept having to pick it up and toss it hard on the ground. He would pick it up and shake it in his mouth. After a few days he learned to shake it aggressively then toss it and it would then work. The description says it talks, I would not call what it does talking, more like loud obnoxious sounds. It does get the dogs attention though so it does what it is supposed to but its not talking. It did not keep any of my dogs entertained for hours, at most maybe 5 to 10 minutes at a time. For smaller dogs (4 to 13 pounds) I would say it is a hit and miss whether they will actually like it and play with it. If you have a dog that is skittish or does not like loud noises this might not be the toy for them. Read more

Very cute toy, my dogs enjoyed it - before they tore up the fabric part. But I was able to take the inner ball and just stick it in another toy as well, lol. So, overall good quality. Read more

Didn't love this as much as similar toys. It's okay, but I think it's a little too hard to re-activate it after it's done, so the dog gets bored after a while. I do like that it has a cover, but it's an odd fit. Overall, it's fine, but this won't end up being a top-ten toy for her. Of course other dogs might have different opinions. Read more
