I've used some car mounts before, but none of them could stick to a dashboard without a special mounting adaptor. This iOttie is the first one that has stayed on the dash, albeit it's only been a week. Still, it's stayed on and stayed put even through some warm Hawaii weather with the car parked out in the sun. That's pretty impressive. It also holds my iPhone 5 in a thin TPU case securely, although it's not quite as one-handed as they say it is. Let's clarify that. If you leave the arms spread in the open position, placing a phone in the cradle is duck soup easy. You just push it in and the arm snaps shut and holds it securely. I usually push it in a little after the initial contact just to make sure. Then I can easily grab the phone and make minor position adjustments. The two handed part comes in when you take your phone out and want to leave the arm spread open for the next use. That's easier done with two hands, but since that should be done only after you've parked, it's not an issue. :-) The ballhead joint shifts easily enough to get your phone in the right position, but holds firmly enough to keep the phone where you put it. No reason why it shouldn't fit bigger phones with ease. There's a little bit of shaking with vibration, but less so than with the cheaper and less capable mounts I tried before. With the friction ball joint and rotating cradle, it's not problem finding a good angle. Unlike some other holders I tried, there are no additional arms or projections to get in the way of the buttons, headphone jack, microphone, or speaker, and I can use the iPhone handsfree in speaker mode easily to answer calls. No problem plugging in a recharge/dock cable. Haven't used it for navigation yet, but it should be great. Best car mount I've tried yet! Update: I've been using this mount in my Honda CRV as a windshield mount for using an old iPhone as a dashcam. It sticks to the windshield very well, and the mount can rotate and adjust to let me shoot straight ahead. My only gripe is that the phone tends to jiggle when the road is rough. If I can figure out how to dampen the vibration, it'd be perfect. Still working, three years later. Read more

Definitely the best car mount I've ever seen. This is a great product with a lot of pros and almost no cons. I'd like to address some other reviewers concerns so I'll edit my review later on when I've had more time with it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm back, and this dash mount is still going strong. Definitely the most aesthetically pleasing and functional dash mount I've seen to date. Here are the pros and cons after an extended period of time. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pros: -Easy to operate one handed. Putting it into the dock is really easy, getting it out of the dock is just as easy to do one handed. All you've got to do is grab the phone and push it against the sliding arm until it locks, and then take it out. It'd be hard to ever go back to a more complex mechanism. -Very easy to mount. I have a VW Jetta 2000 and the dash is curved and the surface isn't smooth, but this mount managed to grab on regardless. I haven't had to touch it since I originally mounted it. -Works with lots of phones. I've used it with my HTC One M7 (with and without Otterbox Commuter), my iPhone 5s (with and without incipio case), and I even managed to squeeze a caseless Nexus 6 in (though it took both hands, it's on the outer edge of size that the dock can handle). -Very versatile. The fact that it has the ball mount and the swivel head is great, and allows you to position it in exponentially more ways. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cons: -After having it for a few months, it seems like the ball joint has come somewhat loose, meaning that it doesn't hold the phone over bumps in certain positions that it used to. I've positioned it in such a way that this isn't a big deal for me though I feel that it warrants the removal of a star. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will add pictures that show the position I have it in currently, as well as how to remove it one handed, which is something some reviewers have mentioned they can't do.
