I bought this thermometer a while back and when I went to use it... it wouldn't turn on. I contacted the company via email and was promptly sent another one. Maybe the batteries died, I'm not sure. Customer service was excellent and also funny... 5 STARS... you're my fave person! LOL. Anyway, I started using the thermometer only the other day on my pregnant girl (dog). I also bought the iProven Disposable Probe Covers and these work perfectly together with a little petroleum jelly to get a good temperature reading. I will admit it's not the fastest reading thermometer, however it is so small that it doesn't bother my girl to wait for the beep when it has reached temp and I think it is accurate. I purchased this when I felt like my older thermometers weren't accurate anymore. It definitely registers different temperature (better) than my old ones so that is confirmed. Easy to use and read. A few things tho - it doesn't beep to let you know it's ready to take a temp and the display doesn't show you anything until it registers a temperature. Original review: My dog is going through cancer treatment, so I need to have a reliable thermometer to monitor that she doesn't get an infection while her white blood cells are decreased. As soon as this arrived, I read the included instructions and tried testing it in heated water against two other thermometers I had on-hand (one being a kitchen thermometer, and the other being a human thermometer). This pet thermometer was about 2 degrees F less than the other two, making it unreliable for my needs. I repeated the test about 4 times over the course of an hour, and the results were always off.
