First thing first. The quality of sound reproduction is exactly what one expects from Sony- crystal clear & pure with a nice DAC and EQ and a lot many other sound improving capabilities . This player was a nightmare initially to understand it's functions, especially the necessity of providing a full-fledged bunch of mobile Android apps. The value for the money are the biggest drawback is the inbuilt memory, which at 32 gb barely adequate for Android apps . It could have been made atleast 128/64 gb. However, slot for external SD card upto 1 TB is a big saving grace. A slightly bigger battery for longer playback would have also added an extra attraction at this price point. However, the quality of reproduction of music more than compensate these shortcomings. Earlier I rated it 4*, which I must revise to 5 after a few months of use - reason being it's musicality from my own FLAC / MP3 Stored music as well as high fidelity Amazon prime music. I have not listened to lossless music from Tidal or any other such platforms. The Good: - Android OS - Google Play Store - Compact chassis - Good function/button location (once you get used to them) - All the connections you should need - including Micro SD slot up to 2TB - USB C charge/transfer port - Sound Quality from top to bottom is good. Clear, extended highs, clean midrange and kick drums well, kick. - Sound great through car speakers or my IEMs. - programmable auto-off The Bad: - Volume, volume, volume. Where is it?? It is limited on IEMs. Sounds plenty loud in car stereo though, and that is the main reason for buying it. Can go to 120 in-car. - Can be a little slow to react. But not as bad as some of the reviews say. - Sony Music App - really, just get rid of it and use VLC player. You'll thank me. For the price the player is OK. However, play/pause, skip track buttons do not work unless the screen is active meaning you have to wake the screen up each time you want to skip a track. Read more

So far so good. I’m using the player and will update the post as I’m more familiar with how it’s working. The menu options could be designed better for ease of use but it is pretty good so far. I have downloaded over 3,000 songs to this and I have used my wired headphones along witb this. The sound is really great and I like how ig has ghe option of bluetooth aswell. It has a physical turning wheel that controls volume and physical buttons that control the skip and pause aswell. Read more
Has both physical and touchscreen buttons. Idea behind physical is that, with the screen off, it can be operated without having to turn the screen on and swiping. When doing that, the touchscreen buttons work then! My other brand mp3 players have physical buttons that operate with the screen off... This miniature device is a power house of potential its size makes it quite easy to slip into the smallest pocket. I have explored a number of mp3 players and this is the first I have come across which has the radio feature. I love that it is able to blue tooth to a compatible speaker. Unfortunately, the wired ear phone has to remain in place as it serves as an antenna for the radio. Having a radio feature makes the device quite functional proving news and entertainment. It ability to use memory cards open up it usage as a storage device. The date feature appears a bit difficult to set as you have to toggle between the three different date style to make either the month, date or year the active cell in order to set.
