Awesome paper quality 20 lb PAPER Ideal for fountain pen. No bleed through. Sharpie fine point ok. Sheets will hold up to "daily life" use, especially if you plan to save what you wrote. DOUBLE WIRE SPIRAL BINDING Strong. Large inner core. Big enough to fit standard ball point, Flair pen or mechanical pencil. Location at the TOP means you don't have to worry about writing into the left margin which might be removed later. SIZE 6x9 inches Slightly longer than A5 TOP PERFORATED Makes a CLEAN edge. Perforation removes about 1/2 inch from the sheet. Length after tear off about 8-1/2 inches. LEFT MARGIN Leaves the whole sheet available for notes. THICK PAD 140 sheets! Most steno pads have only 80 or 100 sheets. Figure your per sheet cost for true price comparison. There are "journals" with more features but they are more expensive. The fact that these are 140 sheets per pad makes them an affordable workhorse for prolific note takers! I have not found a "journal" that features a spiral binding at the TOP. How I use these. I clip separated sheets to the front inside cover with a binder clip or large "bankers" clip. For longer term storage I use quart size freezer bags. See through so easy to see subject inside. Add index card inside to detail contents. I label pads with a piece of masking tape + fine point Sharpie marker. Easy to remove without damaging the cover. Decent office supply stores offer colored masking tape for organizing subject matter: SHOPPING, BILLS, BUDGET etc. COULD IMPROVE Back cover is great. Front cover could be a bit stiffer. If you want to prop the pad to type up what you wrote, it would take some finagling to keep it from falling over. Read more

My wife wanted a spiral bound notebook/steno pad and I had two of these, so I gave her one and I have been using the other for sometime now. She loves the color - it isn't screaming neon canary yellow, but a nice warm golden yellow. The color is comforting to me anyway. My wife was a lawyer and used to writing on big yellow pads, but she is now using a smaller bag to travel with and wanted something she could use on the train. This really fit the bill. Admittedly, I just might be the most particular writer out there. I’d been mourning the loss of the discontinued Mead Cambridge version of this and trying frantically to find a replacement. Here it is! And at only $5 I feel we are really getting value for our money. PAPER QUALITY The paper thickness is on point. I wrote with every utensil I own (except a Sharpie)… from felt tip to Micron to 1.0-thick gel pens. None of the pens bled in place or through to the back. PAPER AMOUNT This notebook contains 140 sheets of paper unlike so many of the thin and small notebooks that come in this size. This is a great feature and one of the reasons why I love it so much. I reference my notes and so having them all in one notebook is ideal. SUPPORT This notebook has a stiff backing board lending to its sturdiness, making it great for writing on even when you don’t have a firm surface. TOP SPIRAL This notebook is top-bound with a spiral. I love this because it means that I can utilize a full page without allows me to utilize a full page without a bulky spiral getting in the way. I bought this in the yellow and white paper. Wish there was a light green like traditional steno pads, but it’s not a big deal. Now, if only I could get Amazon to deliver notebooks properly as to not damage them… Read more

No bleed thru with Uniball Signo DX o.38, Pilot Juice .38. Yellow is not what I wanted, but the company that made the Mead Cambridge 140 sheets green bond paper steno pads was sold and the new owners discontinued that steno pad and lowered the paper thickness. Not my fist choice, not a bad substitute. Read more
