These boots do not rise to the knee as stated in the description, but rather to the calf. Although I usually wear a 7.5 shoe (US) I can wear anything between 7.5-8.5, depending upon the cut and style of the shoe. Having had boots that were cut on the smaller side in the past, I decided to err on the side of caution and order a size 8. While the the boots curve inwardly and gently hug the sides of your foot, there is excess room in the bottom of them. It's enough space to make the shoe rise with each step, but not enough to make my foot slide completely out of position. Had I went with a half size smaller however, I feel the boots would've been too small. There is also a decent amount of space between my calf and the shaft of the boot. Although I would've preferred a slimmer fit in that area, it is a minor qualm. While the description erroneously states otherwise, the base of the boot is rounded rather than squared; providing ample room for your toes. The boot itself is made of a faux leather; colored in deep cedar with a smooth, matte finish. It also features a mild heel that to me, adds a touch of femininity without sacrificing comfort. One thing I found a little odd was the piece on the bottom of the boot that connects the heel to the base. Besides the alternating color, it seemed to be made of another material entirely, almost like corkboard (?). I own several pairs of boots, and this is the first time I've had a pair with this particular feature. It feels thin to me, which is not the most reassuring thought when it comes to the protection of your feet lol. Hopefully, it's just a corky design and not a flaw. Straight up LOVE THEM! So stylish and chic. They go with about anything a wear and the boots just step it up to the next level. They are so comfortable too! They go up just past my calf but not all the way to my knee which allows me to wear different lengths outfits and leggings. These are also great quality boots that will last a long time if cared for properly. Although they aren't real leather, they are a high-quality faux leather exterior with a smooth, matte finish. The great thing is they do look like real leather unlike some other cheap materials. A great quality and stylish boot that I love and highly recommend. At $69.99, they are a great value! Read more
