I would highly recommend this trash can to anyone that's looking for a touchless trash can. I particularly use this trash can to throw food waste in it without having to open the trash can lid with my hand. The sensor on this works very well and recognizes when there is a hand close to the lid and opens very easily. The lid stays open enough time to allow you to throw an item inside the trash can. It also recognizes when you're still in front of the sensor and keeps the lid open until say you're done scraping something into the trash can. The metal is sturdy and is easily cleaned if you spill something on it. The odor control works great and I hardly notice any issues with any bad odors coming from the trash can. Granted I also don't dump certain types of food waste in there (throw it out right away as opposed to letting it sit) or large quantities of food in it all at once to minimize bad odors as much as possible. The trash can has an O ring that you can put a trash bag around it to secure it to the top of the trash can with the weight of the lid adding further resistance preventing the bag coming loose from the O ring. The handles on the side easily allow you to carry the can to a dumpster or a house trash cart to dump the trash in there it you don't take the trash bag out instead from the touchless trash can. We have one in almost ever room. We put scented packets at the bottom. Get the 3 Gal replacement bags for them. They work great. I like the stainless - it's easy to clean and it has a basket that is removable. When you press the foot pedal, the lid closes slowly. Maybe hubby can make sure everything makes it in it now. Pros: - excellent customer service. My sensor stopped working and I received a new product right away. - the design is great and it’s est to get the trash out. - smell is completely contained. Cons: - charger not included. I used the batteries at first and they lasted about three months, so getting the charger is a must. - not ideal for small kitchens: the lid opens when walking by and I had to place the trash can at an angle. I've had a Touchless garbage can before -- one that lasted me about 3 years before it started looking too tarnished and the lid stopped operating at 100%. I thought for my next trash can, I'd buy a bigger version of the same thing and it'd be okay. I've had this trash can for three weeks now and these are my take aways. 1. NOT WORTH THE PRICE -- I really don't understand what about this makes it nearly $200, especially since it is sold without the cord you need to plug it in. It is large, yes, but that's all it has going for it. 2. LID IS TOO SENSITIVE -- every time I walk by this, it opens and there's often a bad stench which takes me to number 3... 3. IT SMELLS -- there are two charcoal packets inside that supposedly absorbs the stench of the trash. These do not work. My previous trash can had this also and it did work--at first at least. These do not. 4. THE WHEELS FALL OFF ALL. THE. TIME. -- This one is what really drives me insane. I thought having wheels on the trash can would be nice. I could move it from room to room with me as I cleaned easy peasy lemon squeezy -- but I was wrong. The wheels are constantly falling off this thing. It just happened again and honestly I'm done trying to fix this. So overall, I'm very disappointed. I had this brand for a smaller version previously and it was fine.
