The convenience of having an easy-to-reach recycling bin, right next to the trash, in a nice and visually pleasing design has made this a perfect choice for our kitchen. I'd say the only drawback is either a nightly or every other day you have to empty the trash. Now we're just moving into the house, so we just may be generating more garbage as we unpack everything. But I'd say you'd need to empty the trash no less than every other day. This is fine for me, having the two of them together with easy to remove inner bins makes managing the waste easy. We just pop the recycling bin and go dump it in the curbside bin when we need to empty it, and the inner plastic bin is easy to clean, rinse it out with the hose, tip it upside down and leave it out overnight. The added filters in the top of each lid are helpful as well. I've yet to notice any smells from either in the two months of active use since its purchase. Read more

I like this trash can a lot.. i’ve been looking for a modern slim can with an open top and this one fits well in my kitchen… it’s been a lot while since I’ve been happy with a trash can..Ive bought so many and wasn’t happy with them.. the best bonus is that I have a stainless steel refrigerator and stove and this trash can fits exactly where I wanted to place it and it looks good too… Read more

OVERALL: having this really tidied things up in our kitchen/dining area. We had two separate cans with bags exposed and it just looked - and smelled - gross. These put a stop to all that and got our kitchen looking - and smelling - much better! PROS: 1. Looks clean 2. Locks odors fairly well 3. The inner-cans have handles, which makes taking the garbage out much easier 4. The foot-pedal does not feel cheap like many plastic cans I've used in the past. I don't get the feeling the foot pedal is going to somehow loose its ability to lift the lid flap any time soon. CONS: 1. Body is easily "dent-able". Ours had a small dent on the side, but nothing worth complaining about. You'll see some reviewers complaining about dents in theirs, which can very easily happen given how thin the exterior is. 2. It's really hard to line the can with bags. The two inner cans fit snuggly in their slots, and there's no room for the top of the bag to wrap around the can to hold itself in place. Placing a lined inner-can inside the can results in the liner being pushed UP, and out, making it susceptible to sinking into the can as you put your trash in it. SUMMARY: I'm glad we bought this -- there are some overall durability concerns, but the functional pieces feel sturdy enough to do their job for a long time. It looks sleek, hides odors with 2 layers of 'can', and will make your room or kitchen look nice and tidy! Read more

The 18 gallon is much better than the 13 gallon. Wasn’t happy with 13 gallon because it’s smaller than typical 13 gallon trash can. Return it and got the 18 gallon. The 18 gallon much better And love the open top. Was getting sick of replacing trash cans with the foot petals because they just break. Love the Open top trash can that has nice look to it, I wanted something nice that was open top but not plastic one. Love this design! Would be cool if the made it in black chrome open top. :) Read more

I was hesitant, but so far I'm loving this trash/recycling bin. My kid who has to take trash out more frequently due to smaller capacity is not. :) The can is as advertised, sturdy, easy to wipe clean and not overwhelming in size compared to other combined bins. We've had simple human cans over the last 10 years - two of them. They have a ten year warranty, and the peddles have broken on them both times, with no way to make a warranty claim since I don't have proof of purchase, so we won't be buying that brand again. The only complaint with this one is that there's no way to get the trash can out without touching the inside of the bag/liner, but that also means there's no gap for trash/dirt to fall into between the lip of the liner and the outer shell of the can itself. Hopefully this means the kids will not want to touch the inside of the trash and will remember to take it out before it's overflowing. Overall, just a really nice, simple and seemingly durable can. I was very excited to receive this product. Looking forward to having recycling near the garbage in one clean and organize space. Unfortunately the problems outweigh the convenience. 1) Both containers are very small (or maybe shape??) and when removing the correct gallon garbage bag is barely half-full. We have gone through more garbage bags in the past 2 months then we typically do in 6 2) Garbage bags do not stay in place, hangout the side (which makes it look terrible). Have to be adjusted virtually every time you throw something in it. The metal handle that is to hold the bag in place does not stay put. In fact after less than a week of using this garbage my husband removed the metal handle off of the recycling out of frustration. and when I say removed I mean just sent to the side because it falls out every time you pull the garbage out. 3) The reason my husband remove the metal handle is because when you pull the full garbage out the handle hooks to it and tears the bag. Huge mess!! 4) After just two months and two days of having this garbage the recycling lid has broken. There is a small plastic hook that holds it and allows it to go up and down. The bottom piece is broken off. In order to close it I have to put it back in place or be cautious when I open it so that it does not fall out. The odd part is the one that has broken is recycling which is used much less than the garbage 🤨 Again, I will say I was very much so looking forward to this garbage despite the fact that my husband was very unhappy about the high price. Unfortunately, I flushed my money down the toilet. Looking for something much better than this. Read more
