I have purchased three of these, the oldest about a year ago. The "older" versions I have (two) have a black "sticky" suction cup base. The one I just received had a clear sticky suction cup. I almost returned it thinking it was a non-sticky suction cup... until I removed the film covering the suction cup. I'll try to keep the Pros/Cons short: Pros - Suction cup is very sticky and I have yet to have one fall off on its own. I mount them on a clean windshield and have not tried mounting on a dashboard (though I would imagine you would need to clean it well beforehand). - Has not broken on me yet (all others I've tried (6) have broken within a year). - It holds all of my phones (Pixel XL, Nexus 6p, even my daughter's iPhone 6 Plus) WITH cases (Otterbox Defender series). - The jaw is strongly spring loaded. It holds my phones (in cases) very securely. (See Cons below.) Cons (minor) - Bendable tube is 6". The IPOW version is 7.6 inches long https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013Y4S2RQ/ . - It is made almost entirely out of plastic (what can be expected for ~$10?). - It requires two hands (though I struggle to imagine how you could use ANY of my past phone holders with one hand). - The jaw is pretty strongly spring loaded. I sometimes find it challenging to open. The IPOW "updated" version says their jaw is easier to open (than THEIR old version), if hand strength is an issue. Summary I didn't think I'd like this style of "jaw" clamping mechanism, but after having used it for awhile, I find it is my favorite. I have only been able to find two of this type, this one and the IPOW longer version (IPOW also makes a "Truck Mount" version that is 11 inches long). Even though it is plastic it has not broken after a year of heavy use (~4 times a day). I DO expect that these will break, I'm just saying that they have lasted for me and I have now bought three of them because of this. It is possible that the "upgraded" IPOW version may be even more durable. I will try them next, if this one breaks. I should note that after having so many of these phone holders break (I don't use magnet style because of my case and NFC use), I have found that you HAVE to learn to balance the pressure to open the clamp (on any of these) to reduce the strain around the suction cup area and the ball connection at the clamp. If you don't, these PLASTIC weak points WILL break. I really wish someone would make these with (quality) metal parts in the high failure locations, even if it would cost $30 or more. Perhaps with a "lifetime" warranty. At ~$10, I highly recommend this phone mount! Read more

These are probably the easiest car mounts EVER. Have been struggling earlier with a more sophisticated version, bought it 3x times - never worked after 3 Weeks. With this one I guarantee you wont fail. A shame really as some of these can really cause traffic incidents if not doing the simple tasks they supposed to snd will distract you by the faimure. Go with these bulletproof ones! Read more

Works well. I only had to replace it because the heat of the sun literally melted the suction cup off. In its defense it was 90 degrees and sitting in full sun. So I recommend on really hot days to remove it so it doesn't overheat and melt off. Read more

This suction cup is old school which is what I'm looking for. As I'm sure you all know, you can only really find the suction cup with the thick sticky pad as part of the suction cup, which can work under certain circumstances. This DOES NOT have the sticky pad gel thingy. It's straight up just a suction cup which means you can move it, I swap vehicles at minimum 3 times a week and this is the perfect phone mount I been looking for with the right suction cup. With that said, I only use my phone horizontally. This will not work if you use your phone vertically, for when you hit bumps it would naturally slip through the cradle arms if vertical. I had to clean off the suction cup with a wet wipe due to some unknown oil residue, but it works as expected. Read more

Product breaks at windshield mount under spring. This seems to be a common problem. Great product other than that. Read more

I thought upon receipt that the product seemed good, stuck to the window easily and held my phone fine (after a bit of struggle, as the mount hits parts on the phone right where the volume and/or power buttons are, so you have to adjust appropriately). Had the device for much less time than I would have expected before it flat out broke right off the suction cup (mount under the clamp down where the spring & device attach to the suction cup). So it was not longer usable as the suction cup is essentially no longer attached to the mount. Here's even more concern - the same thing happened on all 3 of the devices I bought within a very short time of each other. I informed the company of the issue via direct email, no response, and had pursued purchase of another much better product that I'm happy to say is working great and is such a better build for this type of a car window mount, way more sturdy & durable. I hadn't heard back and pinged on the refund request again, was asked for pics (which I could no longer provide as I'd thrown away the bad devices), and because they didn't trust my inquiry and the fact that it had been several months since I bought the item, I was told refunds would not be possible. So - buyer beware, this is a bad product, poorly built, doesn't hold up, will break, and likely you won't get a refund. Buy something else from another company. Read more
