These are nice and thick, but on the tighter side. They don't expand as much as I 'd like. I used them to make ribbon hair ties, and I'm thinking for most hair types it can expand twice around a ponytail. Thicker hair will struggle to get it around 2 times. I have fine, thin, curly hair but a lot of it; these hair ties have worked great for me. I like to put my hair up while doing light housework, but back down if I go out and these haven’t left a crease in my hair. They don’t slip or slide down … but the BEST part is they do not tug or pull out my curly hair when I take them off!! This product is perfect. It is soft and good for toddler hair. The band is not that big so you do not have to tie multiple times. I would not really use for an adult with thick hair, but if you have thin hair this would work. It is super soft and works well. If you have thick hair and try to use it to make a bun it may not stay for long. Either way you can use it for a ponytail, braids etc. Come with a lot so it should last a long time if you bought it for an adult.
