My husband is always on the lookout for new and interesting body washes and scrubs. Most of the exfoliating ones that he has tried have been too gentle to really be considered "exfoliating." The Jack Black Charcoal Body Buff Exfoliating Cleanser is still non abrasive but does clean better than many other deep clean cleansers he has tried. The fragrance is masculine but subtle. It isn't "in your face manly" like some of the mainstream mass market brands that are aimed at teenage boys. The scent is woodsy and herbal smelling. Unfortunately, it doesn't linger long on your skin. The consistency is thick and a little really does go a long way. It doesn't lather up quite as nicely as some brands of body wash that my husband has tried but that is normally the case with exfoliating washes. If there is too much rich, foamy lather, you wouldn't get much of the exfoliating benefits! You can definitely feel the grittiness to this cleanser. It does a fantastic job of removing dead, flaky skin and giving skin a super deep clean. My husband loves using it after his long, strenuous workouts when he is dripping with sweat. I’m about halfway through the bottle I purchased. The product smells great and works well. Nothing special compared to similar products from other brands that I have used. My primary complaint is that the exfoliating stuff in the product clogs the lid and makes it very tough to get the product out. I really don’t like having to unscrew the cap every time I want to use something so I removed stars for this reason. It wouldn’t be hard for Jack Black to correct this. I’m actually a bit surprised they didn’t catch this in testing. Many of their other products are all around top notch. Read more
