I used this to convert a portable monitor into a second desktop monitor. Works perfectly, and I can still disconnect it and use it portably. It’s more than sturdy enough for what it does and small and light enough that I could travel with it as well. Read more

Exactly what I needed. When I work from home I like moving around my property. Sometimes the office, sometimes the front porch, sometimes the backyard, sometimes the nearby park. This helps me have a pro set up anywhere I decide to work. It's well built. It has a solid base. It has good range of motion. Read more

This stand is made up of materials that are twice the thickness and quality for something of this nature. Packaging: - This monitor stand came in a plain brown box with foam cutouts housing the pieces that make up the monitor stand. - The items included were: - A heavy duty extension arm. - A heavy duty base mount that connects to the heavy duty extension arm (often clamped on a desk edge) - A monitor clamp with durable metal extension arms. - (4) cable management attachments with an adhesive on each. - A allen wrench with a phillips head on the long end. Setup & Ease of Use: - This was very easy to setup considering that the base mount has a wide opening for clamping onto most sturdy furniture. - The extension arms can be used to tighten and loosen the placement of the mount without having to find another tool (Although the Allen Wrench can help tighten them even further for a more permanent mount if desired) Performance & Features: - Once the monitor (or my case my tablet) was mounted and all of the pieces tightened, I have full confidence that my tablet won't fall. Pros: - The separations between the arms that go from the base mount to the tablet/monitor holder are a great place for cable management - There are nice protections on the clamps, which I think would prevent long-term term damage to the desk or the tablet/monitor. Cons: - The downside of the base mount clamp is that if you clamp onto something that is vertical, once the arm is attached, there is nothing to tighten that part down. In other words, at the base of the extension arm and the base mount, it moves freely and appears to not be able to be tightened in place. Something to keep in mind, from what I could tell, is that this will primarily work when mounted onto a flat surface only. Verdict: - This monitor holder is very heavy duty and strong. It is made of primarily thick metal. I found it most purposeful, mounting it to the side of my patio furniture and it holding my tablet. Read more

This portable monitor stand with VESA mounts for up to about 19" monitors is just as described in the product photos and description. This is getting used in an area where we have limited desk space, and some shifted from a small desk over to the dinner table when it's not otherwise used. The foot print is nice, in that it's getting the monitor up and out of the way of the other things that are need to get work done. Secondary usage is going to be to bring it along with one of the new small monitors (about the size of a laptop monitor) for business travel when required to have more than a laptop screen at a hotel desk. The movements are flexible, it's easy to put together and seems to be good quality for the price. It pretty much has the portable functionality and easy of use to get the monitor in the right place to get the work done. The price point (currently under $40) makes this well worth considering if you're looking for a stand like this! Read more

This turned out much better than I was anticipating. The arms are made of rigid aluminum that is both lightweight and also quite strong; they probably could hold more than the advertised weight easily were the joints stronger. There are no tension-springs, like with most VESA display arms, to assist with movement, but you don't really need them for portable displays because of how lightweight they are. At first the display-clamp looked so small and had me concerned I received the wrong product, but it easily spread to grip my 18inch display before slowly clamping down while not putting excessive pressure on the display. Initially I suspected this meant the display could easily be yanked out of the clamp or not be able to hold in portrait orientation, but after about a minute the clamp seemed to have a much sturdier grip and allowed me to keep the display in portrait mode just fine. There are also small teeth on the display-clamp that help catch the display along the bezel should you bump into it accidentally. The mount-bracket is also quite rigid and sturdy with a very large screw-insert to hold the arm in place. The clamp has a soft-rubber pad protecting the desk-surface, but there is an exposed metal circle in the center that could mar the surface of your desk if you over-tighten it. The underside bolt is only protected with plastic, which feels like it would become brittle and crack if you adjust it very frequently. Inside the packaging are also 4 cable-holders - each about an inch-long with double-sided tape on the back and a 3/8th inch diameter C-hook to grip cable. There is also an Allan wrench with a Phillips-tip on one end and a small piece of paper with instructions in both English and Japanese to accompany diagrams of the product being setup and used. I do wish the protective rubber on the clamp covered the metal-circle just a bit better and I hope the joints can withstand several years of use, but at $40 I'm quite happy with the quality upfront and have confidence this arm will work just right for me.
