I typically use Schick Hydro Silk dermaplane razors. They're fine, but they can be rough on my sensitive, delicate skin. Even using great care, it's not uncommon for me to end up with tiny nicks and scratches, and my face is generally irritated afterward. Using these Japonesque dermaplane razors has been a pleasant experience. They feel nicer and seem to be of better quality than the Hydro Silk razors. They also have an aloe strip for added comfort and protection for sensitive, easily irritated skin. You are supposed to wet the aloe strip prior to using the razor, but the water doesn't seem to change the texture of the aloe strip. I've used other razors with aloe strips, and based on my past experiences, I was expecting the water to make the aloe strips on these feel kind of slippery and slimy on my skin. It hasn't. Maybe these aloe strips are formulated differently, or maybe I haven't been wetting them enough. Regardless, the razors are comfortable to use against my skin. While I still make sure to moisturize afterward, I haven't had any of the usual irritation, discomfort, or light scratches/nicks that I often have after using a Hydro Silk razor. So, I think these razors are better suited for my sensitive skin. They are a little pricey, but if you have very sensitive skin like I do, you might find them to be worth the cost. Read more
These seem to work great for baby fine hairs. I was hoping they would be good for thicker hairs but I didn't have real luck. I didn't notice if the aloe strips made these easier to use, but it is a nice bonus. Read more
The directions say to wet the blade to help the aloe strip glide and while I usually shave with a dry razor... wetting the razor really helps to get a closer and smoother shave! I discovered using a microcurrent conductive gel before shaving helps to prevent razor bumps and acne awhile ago. So between using the microcurrent gel and these japonesque dermaplaning razors... I got the best shave ever!! I usually cut myself too and haven't cut myself with these. (although I'm sure that's possible since it's pretty sharp but I think between the gel and the aloe strip, it creates a nice barrier between the blade and your skin.) I've tried lots of disposable dermaplane razors and these are among the best I've tried! Can recommend Read more
I get a lot of facial hair and I go through these facial razors often. I was intrigued by this one because of the smoothing aloe strip. I think it actually worked really well! First off, the blades are sharp, so it removes the hair quickly and efficiently. It’s recommended to through it away after one use but I could get two uses out of each one (and cleaning between). The aloe strip helped so that my skin didn’t break out in a rash afterwards. Though it’s still important to cleanse and moisturize the skin! My skin is baby soft smooth though, and no pesky facial hairs!! Read more

I've used a handful of different dermaplaners over the years and never once have I seen any of them include an aloe strip like they do disposable razors. I would say the big differences between this and the standard dermaplaners are mostly that strip, and the depth of the safeties set on the blade. These are just the slightest bit more shallow than others, but still works just as well. I've used these in the shower and dry, in both instances it's been smooth sailing and not once did I cut myself, nor did I feel any irritation like I can if I go a bit overboard. Regardless, they're easy to hold, glide nicely over the skin's surface, and I would say they are quickly becoming my #1 choice . Read more

These work well as dermaplaners but I'm not really convinced that the aloe strips do anything. They do the job and are effective for removing hair. At the very least, the aloe strips don't hurt. Read more
