I can't say enough good things about this wonderful jar opener. For years, I have used a similar one that is mounted underneath a cabinet. I use that all the time, but I just don't have the hand strength if I have a really heavy jar - like pickles, or even a large screw-top wine bottle. This Uinxan opener is my perfect answer. It opens those heavy pickle jar lids with very little effort on my part. It also opens the smaller lids that sometimes get stuck closed - vanilla being a good example. 5 months, two broken wrist, one healed but weak, my dominant right wrist in a cast, it’s tough when you live alone. I could not open any bottles or jars😢staving and thirsty I ordered a jar opener that look like it would hold up the longest. It came yesterday, I took it to the kitchen to give it a try. It works on plastic, metal and every size I tried, from the small condiment bottles to 1/2 gallon jar lids, they easily twist off, causing zero pain. I don’t know it would work on child proof pill bottles, because I couldn’t wait for delivery, but a pair of pliers and a big screwdriver does. The handle shape made of heavy duty plastic is comfortable, and the gripping teeth are strong metal that won’t break off. In my junk drawer I had 2 different aids to open stuck lids, but my wrist aren’t strong enough. If you want to give anyone a practical gift, even a man (we all know there is that one jar everyone struggles with) this is the best, don’t wait. At the end of the day, with my new favorite tool, I was able to open a vodka bottle and a jar of olives, and make myself a dirty martini. This is a game changer for anyone who has trouble opening jars or bottles! It works better than any other type of opening “assistance” product I’ve tried. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I’ve found there are some jars that don’t fit. Rao’s pasta sauce seems to be an in-between size that somehow just won’t work with this. Works well! I am 74 and a lot of things seem to be getting difficult to open. I don’t know if it’s my age or just how they’re making them now. (Probably both). Most of my assistive items cannot open everything. So far, I have not found any item this cannot open. Bottles of water are now difficult to open. No problem with this. Wine bottles have become difficult to open, but no problem with this. Jars of all sizes so far have been easier to open. I am thinking about buying more to give as gifts to my old friends. When I say old not I don’t just mean they’ve been friends with me for a long time, but also because they are older than dirt! This opener is amazing!! Opens plastic and metal jar lids with no effort, water bottles to pickle jars. The metal teeth grip the lid, one slight twist and your bottle/jar is open!! I have arthritis in both hands and some days it is very difficult to open anything. No installation required, can store in a drawer or hang.
