I've been a musician and performer all my life, so music is very important to me and I've spent a lot of time around live instruments. I'm an engineer with acoustical engineering training. I've been proven at Bose to have a golden ear. I've listened to $100,000 studio systems and own an amazing $10,000 system myself. And yet if I had to pick just one system to have for the rest of my life, the JBL Boombox 3 Wi-Fi is hands down the one I would choose, with no hesitation at all. The JBL engineering team knocked this so far out of the park that even though I'm an engineer myself it still strikes me as a miracle every time I listen. The sound quality is so, so coherent that the soundstage is ... put it this way ... listening to this unit convinced me I have never truly heard a soundstage before, and now I have. I credit the concentric mids and tweeters, which can produce perfectly phase coherent audio. This is a very underrated feature of speaker design that makes such an enormous difference in imaging, I'm shocked it isn't talked about more. It's so good that I can now very confidently tell the difference between mediocre recordings (things like violin sections thay sound more like a gritty screech than a group of violins) and truly great recordings. It's like I'm literally hearing my whole music collection for the first time all over again. The subwoofer is acoustically isolated from the mids and tweeters so it doesn't interfere with their operation at all, and it all blends perfectly. The passive radiators on the sides and the size of the bass resonance cavity are perfect. Bass is clear and blossoms beautifully in any room. Reviews that say the sound isn't great at low volume are somewhat correct. I suspect what's going on is that the built-in microphones that constantly recalibrate the sound to fit the acoustical environment can't do as good of a job at lower volumes because they can't "hear" well enough to properly adjust. The battery is a beast. I've listened loudly at bedtime for maybe 7 hours over the past 3 days and the battery is still at 75%! Not only that, but when the power goes out, I wouldn't be surprised if you could recharge 5 phones from the rear USB port for over a week. The amplifiers are extremely powerful and clean, and this thing can rattle the windows and shake the walls. I haven't needed to go above half volume to fill a room. For a demo, set the EQ in the JBL One app to the settings I've attached to this review, place the Boombox 3 Wi-Fi on a solid surface like a dresser, stone counter, or toilet tank, fire up Spotify in high quality mode with automatic quality adjustment turned off, and play the soundtrack from Godzilla (2014), ron Man 2, Blue Beetle, Prince of Persia, or Good Omens at 30 to 50% volume. If it doesn't utterly knock your socks off, I'll eat my shorts. I've never recommended a sound system before, but since this was delivered I've been evangelizing it nonstop to anyone who will listen, and many decided to buy one of their own. I strongly believe if you're trying to decide between different systems and this is one of your candidates, just buy this. I can 99% guarantee you or whoever you gift it to will feel the way I've come to feel about it. It's as close to perfect as I could possibly imagine. Read more

Great speaker and I love the Wi-Fi. Can pair with other Google speakers on my network. Sounds amazing and can fill any decent size room with sound. My only gripe, I wish it had USB-C charging. Would be great if I could use a USB-C laptop charger, that I already travel with to charge. Read more

My entire experience with JBL products has officially been a bust. I'm not sure why they need a different app for every series and every version of that series. I purchased the boom box 3 and wanted to pair it with another so I purchased the boombox 3wifi. Despite being the same series, these version are supported on entirely different apps. So I go ahead and buy another boombox 3wifi and pair them, work fine for a while. Go to standby and retire reconnection and regrouping all over again. This is NOT IDEAL for events. Fine if you're using an individual unit, but absolute trash for the alleged 'party mode.' Read more

I love the sound quality with the 3 way audio channels plus all the speakers are acoustically isolated from one another. Look, I also love the battery life. It lasts quite a long time. And it came with very minor scratches.I can barely even tell that it was in used condition. I love the waterproofness. It floats in my pool, perfect. Overall, five stars, I would recommend this to anyone who is willing to spend three hundred dollars on a speaker. Read more
