JBL MA510 5 2 Channel 75 Watt x 5 8K AV Receiver Black

Very pleased once I got it setup. Initially the setup process is bit confusing because as soon as it connects to WiFi it goes unresponsive as it updates its firmware. But since that initial update it has operated flawlessly. I have it connected to my TV via the HMDI Arc port on each device and it operates perfectly. The receiver automatically turns on/off with the TV. If I turn off the receiver (purposely), the TV’s built-in speakers provide sound. I absolutely love that it can display the receiver’s set-up menu on the TV screen for smoother/easier adjustments. It’s on the more shallow side for receivers so it ACTUALLY FITS on top on my media console, and looks great too. I have this receiver running 4 large (RC65i) in-wall Polk Audio speakers, one large Polk Audio center channel speaker (ES35), and sending signal to a powered 10” Polk Audio subwoofer. Simple to setup and use. Just what I wanted. Remote is also simple. Most AV remotes have 50-ish tiny buttons that are just confusing. So far, I am delighted with the JBL AV receiver. Read more

Currently installed in a media closet in another room of the house. When connected to my tv via hdmi arc, the tv controls the volume even turning the amp on/off. I don’t have to use the jbl remote at all. The amp sufficiently drives in-wall Polk rc85i speakers. So it does everything I need it to do! Read more

I replaced a Denon with this new JBL. I really like it. I did not know it did not have an FM receiver though. My error for assuming and not researching. I would still recommend. Read more

Can't get it to update software. It's supposed to automatically with wifi. The wifi connection is good. Internet radio options work just fine. Talk to jbl luxury tech support and we tried to update manually with usb drive. The unit doesn't recognize the file in the flash drive that was emailed to me from tech support. Very little answers from them on this product. I will most likely be returning this. Has some bugs that should be fixed with the update, but I'm dead in the water here. Shame Read more

This JBL MA510 is able to drive my Polk ES60's with no issues. I love the the look and the sound quality is great. The only issue I had was connecting it to my wireless network. I had to use my Mac laptop to login to interface and configure the network portion of it. I would like them to add more features in the way of supported streaming apps.
