This little speaker is great for anyone riding a bike. I had zero issues with the clip, you will need to use the provided rubber ring parts to make sure you get a snug fit and then clamp it tight with the screw. The clip piece itself is separate from the speaker itself, which slides into the clip with its clip on the back, so you can remove the speaker and put it elsewhere if you desire. It stays relatively steady on the handlebar, occasionally needs twisting to reorient the speaker in the clip if your bike ride gets bumpy. The construction is good, it seems to be able to handle falls well - mine took a small tumble on pavement and it was fine minus some scuffs. The sound is the typical JBL sound, which is pleasant, clean, and vibrant in my opinion. The bass is not as powerful as other JBL products, but that is to be expected given how light and small this speaker is. The only major flaw I will point out is the battery. The battery life is pretty bad, approximately 3.5 hours from 100% to dead, and I just bought this, so I imagine it will only get worse. I think other reviewers noted that volume level correlates with battery life, and I mostly use it at higher volumes, so take that as you will. Overall, satisfied with this little speaker. It punches out great sound that defies any wind during your rides, but there's no denying the battery is pretty bad. Slightly overpriced for what it is, but I doubt there is much better value for this size, weight, and sound quality. Read more

I bought this because it had a port for an microSD card, so I wouldn't have to use my phone and Bluetooth, which would save the battery on my phone. However, I find that A) the card reader only sees songs. It can't read any directories or files. So if you have you songs in albums and the albums organized by genre, like I do, you're out of luck. B) Furthermore it can only read WAV and MP3 format with a maximum bit depth of 16bits. My files are all FLAC. So the microSD card function is useless for me. The instructions weren't any help, either. I looked on the web for more instructions, but it only has a photo of the "quick guide" that comes with it. Nowhere does this "quick guide" explain how to play music from the microSD card. I had to contact JBL help by chat. Having said that, they were quite helpful (after I convinced them to help me even though I wasn't in the US). Furthermore, the battery life on the previous version was 10 hours and this version, only 5. Why? Finally, the instructions say "sport" is for inside and "bass" is for inside. Instead, it should be "sport" is for thin, tinny sound -- maybe podcasts only -- and "bass" is for normal music. Having said that, the device did pair easily with my phone and the sound, using the "bass" settings, is OK, considering the size of the device. It also gets fairly loud - I'm using it inside but I don't think I'll have any problems using it outside. I initially gave this one star because of my disappointment with the card reader, but moved it up to a 3 because it does pretty much what I wanted when paired with my phone. AFTER USING IT ON MY BIKE: No, 3 stars is too much. You can hardly hear any details in the music - maybe just enough to remind you of what song you're listening to, if you want to sing along. There's no comparison with bone conduction headphones, which deliver the full depths & stereo of the music while still allowing you to hear the surrounding sounds. Of course the headphones I bought were 3x as much as this gizmo, but there are (much) cheaper no-name versions available that cost even less than this device does.
