JBL Wind 3 S - Slim Handlebar Bluetooth Speaker Black

I love this speaker. The two eq modes are dumb as I just use the one that doesn’t suck all the bass from your music, but the speaker works so well. It comes with two different rubber spacers for the handlebar mount, and the ring mount is pretty large, definitely meant for old school bike handlebars. Luckily the fat spacer made it fit on my tiny bars. The wing nut to tighten it is plastic and I could see it breaking with a good fall, hopefully JBL can provide replacement mounts in the future. Small, slim, fits well even on my 35mm handle bars. I am concern with the longevity of the clamp not having a hinge and having to spread the clamp everytime I have to remove the base plate from the bike. I don't feel this clamp will take too many dismounts before breaking. I had the speaker on my belt using the belt clip. I bent over and the speaker popped off my.belt and fell to the ground from hip level. This short fall caused the belt clip to Crack. This is the reason for the 3 star review. This needs better development on the clamp and more robust plastic on the belt clip. Audio is what to be expected out of a speaker this size. Read more

Despite the description, the Wind3 Slim (Wind3s) does not support being used as a speakerphone - only the Wind 3 with display supports this capability. That issue aside, the speaker actually sounds excellent with good functionality, size and mounting. Was purchased for E-Bike handlebars so Handsfree was important. Returned Wind3s and purchased Wind3 solely to get the upgraded Handsfree capability. Other features (FM, Aux In, and Memory Card reader) are not features I will using Read more

The mount is really solid , you can ride fast technical downhill with it. The controls are easy to use while riding on easier terrain. I wish I could find an extra mount to put on another bike so I did not have to unmount the mount. Read more

The design for the handlebar clamp mount is extremely poor and broke after 5 hours of normal, intended use - the JBL Product Designers really phoned it in for this one. There could’ve easily been a larger gusset/rib along the backside to support the speaker as it oscillates during normal riding vibration. Instead, there’s basically no feature to reduce stress concentration and this thing snapped off like a twig. Extremely disappointed. I must say; the speaker itself is great for the size, but this mount design deserves only 1/5 stars. Read more

I listen to tunes to break up the monotony when bike riding on a greenway with my iPhone on SirusXM in the seat pack. I haven't used it trail riding. Additionally, it also serves as an early warning to walkers on the greenway that I'm approaching when passing. If they hear me coming, they are less startled when I call out. Ones that know me move over when they hear the music and no call-out is necessary. Works every time, does not require frequent charging and the sound quality is what you expect from JBL. Read more
