So I have tried to use this on my dog but failed miserably. The tool is not super loud but it is still at a level that she would not tolerate. The noise and the vibrating honestly is not that different from a quiet trimmer so I don't know why she is just not having it. In terms of functionality tho, it does work on my own teeth. I tried it out in my own mouth and I actually find it to be quite nice. The light that targets your teeth is very helpful. The tool is rechargeable and so you do not have to fight a cord. It is honestly amazing how inexpensive these tools are nowadays. It cleaned my teeth well (what I was able to see on my own anyways) so I suspect it works for the dog very well. In terms of power, I do not think its super strong but for a type of tool like this - I think the gentleness is absolutely necessary and would prefer it to a super ztrong one that can potentially hurt me. Great tool for built up plaque removal on your pets. The tip only activates when touched to teeth, not skin and gums so it is safe and removes build-up really well without damaging the actual tooth enamel. A black light turns on when you activate the tool which makes it easy to see the problem areas. It has different intensity settings and is rechargable.
