I really am loving these boots! I was skeptical because of some of the reviews but I’m happy I bought them. I purchased my regular size and they were a tad snug in the toe which had me worried. But after a day of wearing them, they seemed to stretch out and now are very comfortable! They look nice and I’ve worn them all day with no discomfort at all. I ordered these in black and gray in size 8.5 regular. They are nice boots, true to size as far as the shoe part. The heel is a nice height and the material is soft & leather like. The shaft height on the item description says 14.56 inches but does not include the shoe size with that height. When I measure both pairs, the shaft height is closer to 16 inches on an 8.5 size shoe. I’m a 5’2” with thick legs & very muscular calves which always cause an issue with boots and shaft size. The design of the shaft in this boot is curved. Since my legs are short, my calf muscle is at the very bottom part of this curve where they just begin to widen, resulting in a tight calf fit, while the top of the shaft is big and gaps a bit. The shaft WIDTH at the top is 16” (8” X 2 laid flat in the pics). Where the biggest part of my calf starts is 6 inches below the top, where it is only14 inches (7” X 2) so it’s really tight there, and hard to zip until you get to the part that’s wider. So if I switch to wide calf they will really be gaping and sloppy at the top. The gray was too tight to be comfortable, but the black was a little bigger (but snug) & I could zip it. The top of both pairs hit just below my knee cap. A 14 -15 inch shaft fits much better and is more flattering, but good luck finding a pair that height in an 8 1/2 shoe. They need to change that shaft height in the description, that’s the reason I ordered these. I’m returning the gray and on the fence with the black. I wish I could find a 14 inch shaft height. These boots look every bit as nice as the photos - looks like real leather! I was a bit concerned when I ordered them that the very top of the boot may not fit my calves right, but they are just right, with enough room to comfortably tuck in my jeans but not too much room that they look odd when wearing with bare legs or thin tights. Comfortable to wear. Great quality materials and workmanship all around. Color is exactly as shown in the photos. Good value based on the quality and price. I’m very happy with my purchase! Read more
