Seriously, I've used Gillette razors forever. They've always been good. But this was a gift for Father's Day, and it is -- bar none -- the best razor I've ever owned. Extremely smooth and close shave, no nicks, rides facial contours perfectly. And the side-burn razor is fantastic -- enables perfect trim of sideburns and, for those with beards/mustachios, the edges of those. And the prices were reasonable. Not just "reasonable for a specialty brand" but reasonable in comparison with the traditional brands, and often a bit less expensive. The only thing I haven't been able to test yet is how long the blade steel stays sharp. I shave at the end of and during a hot shower, without shaving cream, and my blades last not weeks, but months. And I still get as good a shave as traditional shaving-cream-in-front-of-mirror. So, we'll see how these blades hold up and for how long. But I'm very impressed after a week of use. Highly recommend. I wanted to switch from my old Gillette and wanted to try Jeremy's version 2 razor. Glad I did. Handle is nicely configured and well made. I guess my beard is getting tougher as I get older so a close shave on my neck is very important and after several shaves I must be honest and say the sharpness of the blades don't hold up at least for me anyway. I found myself changing blades after 4-5 shaves, again because I judge the close smooth shave by my neck and if I went beyond 5 shaves I was scraping instead of shaving. Don't get me wrong this is a good combination of handle and cartridge. For comparison I went back to my old Gillette Powerglide outfitted with a new blade. I could quickly tell that getting that smooth shave on my neck was much easier using the Powerglide. I also still like the handle design and feel of the Gillette. For additional comparison I got a Cremo handle and blades. Liked the heft of the handle and hate the attachment method. Takes me lots of tries to get the cartridge to attach. Both the Jeremy and the Gillette Powerglide are much easier. A quick snap and click and cartridge is replaced. Not so with the Cremo, you have to hold the button down to keep the attaching clips open. Frustrating. I guess ultimately it is up to you to determine what works. All beards are different and I think mine has changed as I age. So for me, I'll switch back and forth between the Jeremy and the Powerglide depending on my mood. LOL! Read more
