This sheath dress is classic for a dressy occasion. The fabric is stretchy and has ruching in the mid-section to accommodate nights with big meals. What would've been a plain dress is prettier with the striped, partially sheer sleeves. This can be worn to events, work, or any occasion that requires a touch of elegance. The body is thick enough to be discreet. The sleeves make it a little tricky to wear a strapped bra, even a black one. Stick with a strapless bra for a cleaner look. Anyone who knows Jessica Howard dresses knows that they are well-made. This one is no exception. The material is very stretchy being a polyester with spandex. Directions say hand wash, but I found a gentle cycle worked fine and hung it up to dry. Stitching is good - no seams left open. Nylon zipper functions well and disappears into the back seam. The style is classic elegance with the very subtle side ruching (asymmetrical draping) and netting in the sleeves. The netted sleeves do not irritate or itch which is always a risk with any netting. The boatneck top is just right - not too wide so as to fall off the shoulders (not quite a boatneck but also not quite a crew). I only had two issues - both more with my body shape and sizing. The dress is very clingy so I suggest ordering up if on the line. The size chart seemed pretty accurate - based on my measurements, curves, and weight I decided to go up on size. (I’m often between a 10 or 12 - weight between 145-150 and thankfully ordered 12). I’m glad I did as the 10 would have been just too snug for my comfort. Anything larger than the 12 and it would have been too large in areas. If you don’t mind a little cling - this dress is pretty. The other issue was the length is a bit longer than I like. I’m only 5’2” but petites always seem too short on me. I prefer regular lengths. But this dress does run a bit long - reaching below my knees an inch or two. Adding heels helped alleviate the awkward length, but I may eventually hem it up an inch. As models are usually tall - and this dress comes to her knees, you can see it may run a bit long. In all fairness, the seller did call it a “midi” - though I don’t think it quite fits the length for a midi nor should this style. Just to the knees as shown by the model would be perfect. So if you are 5’5” or more - you should be good. Others like me may wish to hem it. I really do like this dress as it is classy rather than slutty yet feminine and unique for a solid black dress. This dress is pretty and elegant. The fabric is soft with a slight sheen to it, mostly polyester with 5% spandex. The quality is extremely nice, there were no flaws or imperfections of any kind. The dress is simple, with the only embellishment, sheer stripes on the arms. The dress comes to just above the knees. The sizing was accurate, I normally get between an 8 and a 10 and the size 8 fit well. The fit is quite form fitting. The fabric has some stretch to it. Per the instructions, this should be hand washed. The dress would be suitable for fancier occasions and dressy date nights. It is a fair value for the money. Read more

This dress is very comfortable, the material is soft and slinky, and the sleeves are mesh and don't cut into your skin. The fit is ok, it's a little wide and loose around the middle, I wish it hugged your backside a little more, the rouching in the front is alright, I'm not a huge fan of rouching. WOW, this is a beautiful dress. It fits my figure amazingly. The material feels expensive..it has a great texture to it. The mesh shoulders has a beautiful look. It zips up the back and is easily zipped. This was the first dress that I have ever received from Amazon that had a hanger. What surprised me was the price tag on the dress. I am mainly expressing my wife's perspective here, but I am generally in agreement that this dress is a quality product. She says she immediately felt the material (95% polyester, 5% spandex) to be a cut or two above, thicker, yet not heavyweight, but more substantive. I personally think she looks great in it. But I could not convince her to let me take a photo for this review. The dress has some nice details in the shoulder/sleeve area. I ordered the black color. It might be available in other colors. I think it sits real well on her. it's flattering. And she tells me it's comfortable. And we are down here in the Florida heat so the right material is a must for anything you wear. Read more
