TL;DR: These will not be the most absorbent without a secondary measure. REVIEW: I purchased three different kinds of training underwear: these Joyo roy Potty training pants with double wings (yellow), the Joyo roy regular training underwear (green), and the EZ Moms Potty Training underwear (blue), and here is what I found: We are planning on starting potty training with the pull-ups method. This is where you put a pull-up on over the underwear so that the child feels the wetness of the underwear, but you don't have a mess to clean up if there is an accident. As a result, it was very important for us to find a pair of underwear that was completely covered by the pull-ups so that no potentially soiled underwear would leak out of the pull-up. We found that these Joyo roy double thigh wing underwear were smaller than the other two pairs; so, they fit perfectly under the pull-up. As you can see from the images, the other two pairs stuck out farther on the leg, which would potentially cause leakage outside of the pull-up if there was an accident. If you're not using a secondary measure, then one of the other pairs might be better suited for you as they were bigger and had more coverage. Also worth noting is that the non-padded material on the top half of these that they refer to as "Thin like a feather and breathable" is actually mesh; so, there is no way that it is absorbing anything beyond the padded material. That didn't matter in our case, and it will likely feel nicer for our kiddo once we are sans pull-ups, but mentioning in case that might matter to you. I love how these fit my daughter's petite lower half (she wears 2T or 3T shirts with 18 month or 24 month shorts) without too much bulk. They're a great neutral, compared to so many other underwear options with bright patterns. CON: My only pet peeve, the reason for deducting a star from a perfect score, is that the cover included with the undies is made of an absorbent material. Once it gets it wet, you're left with 4 pairs of undies and no cover. The fabric is super soft and my daughter has no issues with wearing it but the number of undies lasts longer than the single cover. [The undies + cover combination fits incredibly well; I'm impressed with how smooth it looks under clothes. It's fitted so it's secure but it's comfortable.] This is a big deal, though, when you're just starting potty learning (Big Little Feelings' plan) and need the protection of a liner over the undies. Having to start potty training a little early since it becoming more difficult for me to find diapers that fit my toddler. She’s outgrown the 5t-6t easy ups which is the last size up to the only brand that doesn’t give her a diaper rash. Like everyone says, these aren’t leak proof. Which is pretty much the point since you WANT them to be aware of when they go. I love that they’re comfortable and easy to wash. Plus these are probably the only ones I’ve found that come in plain/neutral colors. The crazy colors and designs most have are just not my thing. Anyways, bought a few more packs after testing out the first pack and tbh will probably buy more later. Read more

I have been struggling with potty training since my daughter was 18months she's 4 now and incredibly resistant to potty training. After inflation started I attempted to look into moving to a cloth substitute that will hopefully give her insentive to move on to the potty on her own as our repeated attempts have made it worse unfortunately. At first she was resistant to these training underwear but she got use to it as these are more comfy than your normal underwear, they're more akin to diapers but they'll allow your child to feel wet. We also put on the plastic cover and put shorts on and she had an accident with very little leakage. You could only notice the wetness if you felt her bottom which was great! I changed her gave her a new set and she learned quick she didn't like the wetness and pulled them off herself. It will definitely take time but these are great and she is willing to wear them! Tried them by themselves without the cover and again she had an accident but there was minor leakage and no mess for me to clean up other than her skin. Definitely will be purchasing more as we will be doing more laundry but it's better than spending a ton on pullups that will only insentivize her to remain in diapers. Read more
