8-5-24 First Day Review: The Jump Starter with Air Compressor by Acmount came recently. So far, I like it. It comes in a nice hard case, that unzips into its 2 halves, w/ the tool on one side, and everything else (air hose, jump cables, ball air adapters and Instructions) the other side. These are separated by both an unzipping mesh, and a flap, like a page in a book, that helps keep things in place, apparently. Most of the control buttons on the air pump are intuitive enough and labeled – though a little hard to see in dark locations. It even comes with a 2-year warranty. I do not have a dead car battery to test the jump starter capabilities. But I do have a lot of tires – 2 vehicles and 5 bikes for the air compressor functions. So, I tried it out on my riding lawn mower front wheels, which lose air between mower days. The air inlet on my lawnmower tires is on the inside, and I’ve found it’s so much easier to turn the front wheels on my riding lawnmower by jacking it up. I remove the air cap, but put it in a good location, because the caps keep dirt from the air valve – which can clog up if they get dirty. I reviewed the Acmount’s short User Manual, noting the different buttons, and read the side of my tire to find it was 14 PSI max. Since that’s lower than the range shown in Car, Motorcycle, and Bicycle Modes, after putting the air hose onto the product, I followed the Air Compressor section, and chose “Custom Inflation Mode”, then the PSI Unit, then + button to bring it up to 14PSI. Then long press the “Inflate Button”, which is marked “Start/Stop. It began filing up my tire, as I sat by, ready to turn it off or unplug it from my tire, if it tried to put too much air in. But, at the set 14PSI, the pumping stopped and went quiet. Excellent, but I then tried to turn the product Off, by holding down the “Power Button”, and that does NOT turn it (LED Screen) off! I tried short and long presses. Thankfully, after a few seconds it turns itself off. Since it did the job, and didn’t overheat, overfill, or complicate the process, that’s a Win. But if I was the manufacturer, I’d make the “Power Button” more functional, than just powering the machine (LED) on. Read more
