I recently acquired K&F Concept 83 Video Tripod. I am photographer and don’t do much video. But when I do, my tripod which is geared mostly for photos, did not yield good results. That’s one reason I wanted a dedicated video tripod for those occasions where I use my camera (soccer, school plays etc). I wanted a small, portable yet sturdy that operates smoothly while panning the camera. Also I did not want to spend an arm and leg. That’s when I ran into this tripod. This not only checked all boxes but within my price range. I was not expecting much given the price and all the features listed. But after receiving it and setting it up. I am pleasantly surprised. Tripod came in a cardboard box with a carrying case and a wrench. Tripod has aluminum body so it’s slightly heavier than a typical carbon fiber model. It’s much lighter than the aluminum tripod I had earlier. If you haven’t read the details, you could easily think of it’s a carbon fiber model. I felt more confident with its weight as it presented with a much better build quality. Coming to tripod legs, they are strong, with leg locks. I like these locks much better than the regular twisty cylindrical/rotating locks. This tripod leg locks have resistance and give you a Solid click sound when you engage them. When the tripod is fully extended. It becomes 83 inch tall behemoth making you look like a lilliput. While it’s good to know it can go that tall, I would never go beyond 72 inches in practical use. Now coming to the best part of the tripod - it’s head moves buttery smooth when you pan. Using handle on this tripod to pan the camera is a joy which I really missed while using a camera tripod. The upward and downward motion is also smooth. The arca Swiss compatible plate is a machine finished aluminum, unlike the regular plasticky ones that you find on other tripods. Now coming to color scheme on the tripod, when I saw on the pictures, I felt it’s cheesy until I saw the tripod in hand. After assembling and looking at the tripod, it’s black legs, coupled with orange accents along with aluminum finished tripod plate, I kind of liked the overall color scheme. It looks and feels like a premium build. I took this to film a community event in my neighborhood and performed flawlessly! By the way did I mention, it comes with a carry bag made with strong denier fabric. Overall I am more than pleasantly surprised with this tripod in terms of its quality, function and affordability. If you are in the market for a video tripod, you should seriously look this K&F concept 83 tripod. It’s an affordable premium quality video tripod. You will not be disappointed! Read more

i really REALLY love the dual-action rubber / metal spike feet. over or under - tightening it "locks" the feet into place, so i'm confident that #1, they'll not fall off, and #2, they wont switch modes by mistake. the FH-03 top has a super nice smooth adjustable motion that makes even very zoomed-in shots extremely steady which i was not expecting to see in a 20x zoom. very nice. the arm is adjustable and can even be removed if needed. there is a bubble-level as well! the aluminum construction feels SOLID and if you over-spin the motion release mechanism, it will NOT detach from the unit which i find valuable. the aluminum Arca-Swiss quick-release plate is lightweight and has some rubber added to really lock in your phone or camera so it won't slip around. the tripod comes with an outstanding carry bag that has extremely thick zippers which shouldn't ever get stuck or off-track. the carry case comes with a padded high quality shoulder strap as well, and the shoulder strap is removable. about 21 inches long overall which is surprising considering how tall the thing gets when deployed to the maximum. tripod also has a metal hook which in my experience can easily support a 15 pound sandbag weight for added stability. there is also a free 1/4 inch mounting position near the top of the legs for accessories. many tripods have spin-locks on the segmented legs. i greatly prefer the clip style that the O234A7 base has. there is a spin-lock on the upper extension arm when fully (and i mean FULLY) extended, and the entire thing is also reversable so you can have balanced, low-to-the-ground shots as well. as an added bonus, both elements of the upper vertical extension have an adjustable rubber gasket which i really appreciate. the detachable, monopod has padding for hand-grip which feels nice, and the monopod is compatible with the other segments of the unit, so you can mix and match them as you wish. the legs have 3 settings for normal, medium, and EXTREME stability which is appreciated because it gets super windy where i'm at. the entire thing is surprisingly lightweight overall very impressive, and i'm glad i bought it small random side note: packaging was great. it shows confidence in their product that K&F Concept can just ship the thing in its retail box with no protective wasteful over-packaging because the unit itself is sturdy. there was zero odors or grease / stuff that gets on your hands. no machine-oil residue or odors on my hands after messing around with this immediately out of the box. I’ve used this a little bit now and it’s a good quality tripod. It comes with a nice carry bag and fluid head. The head is smooth and holds the weight of my Nikon Z50ii with the 180-600mm lens no problem. The feet come built in with metal spikes that you simply rotate the rubber foot if you don’t want to use the spikes. It folks up nicely to carry with you and while not as light as carbon fiber at this price point the value is right where it needs to be and I don’t mind the little extra weight for the cost. It’s really not that heavy. This will function well for both video and stills. I like this style head over the ball heads so this will likely become my go-to tripod. It tilts well with great movement and vertical range. I also like the versatility of being able to change it into a monopod, making the setup even lighter. Read more

As budget tripods go, this piece is pretty solid. Being small, the legs can be splayed out wide so camera is low to the ground- but still not take up too much space while being secure. The head feels pretty fluid, though I might consider replacing the very dainty little grip arm with something longer for better control. Some of the adjustment knobs could have better grip to make tightening/loosening easier, but I used this piece on an interview shoot the day after I received it and it worked just fine. I own a lot of K&F gear (magic arms/filters/lens cleaning) and I'm always happy with it. Read more
