Great little clock after the quirks are resolved
Here’s the great things about this alarm clock: - it’s light and relatively thin so easy for travel, easy to carry, easy to move around - the display is big, and there is three levels of brightness available, so it’s viewable — which is great - it works with three AAA batteries or with a USB/C hook up cord, included — if it’s on the cord, then being able to see the clock is persistent, but if it’s on battery, it only shows up when you intentionally ask it to turn off — either or both of those controls can be very helpful depending on your needs - it has five buttons, they don’t only do five things, but with five buttons, there’s not too much technology that’s needed to set this up properly Things not so great: - it has to be plugged in in order for the clock to be persistent, it’s much easier to travel with something that has batteries — so it is unfortunate that the persistent option isn’t available on three batteries - it automatically comes with a 24 hour clock and on Celsius, so if your US based and you want a 12 hour clock and see things in Fahrenheit, you have to press the button as a certain way to get that setting - the alarms are not easy to interact with, at least for me, the alarms got engaged. I couldn’t figure out how to get them off. It took me quite a while to do that and then even when I was trying to do that, I couldn’t figure out how to set them so I’m sure it’s possible and I’m sure it works in a certain way, but it just wasn’t as intuitive as I would’ve liked to have been and really didn’t like to have to spend an extra 10 minutes or so trying to figure out how to make sure those alarms were off (this is why it’s four stars and not 5) Notes: - I really do appreciate the seller has what seems to be all the directions on the listing, that is very convenient and I used it to resolve three things - the battery version of the clock engages through noise, the directions indicates through clapping, and it seems to respond to that sort of noise versus a voice noise, so kind of interesting, maybe be helpful for people that want to sleep in the dark and like to clap in the morning to see what time it is Overly like this clock, I plan to use it to help me time presentations, so it helps that the numbers are large, and I can see it across the room when I’m presenting. (Unfortunately, in order for it to stay on, I need to have it plugged in, something I learned when I recently gave a presentation and it kept going off.) It’s possible the quirks just need to be navigated once and this seems to have pretty small learning curve. I think this could be a great solution and it has a very nice price. * in my attached photo, the clock numbers look blue, they’re just on the lowest of three light intensities, and that is how they photograph, but in reality, they are very, very pale blue which I don’t think is intentional, these are designed to be white numbers Read more
