These are beautifully made over-the-knee boots. The faux suede is soft and surprisingly luxurious - it actually feels like the kind of supple suede you’d expect on a high-end shoe or boot. I also love the angular heel. It’s a shape that’s been around for years but recently came back into the spotlight thanks to Dior’s J’Adior slingbacks, and it gives these boots a polished, modern look. The heel height runs about 3 to 3.25 inches - sensible, but still feminine and stylish. I can’t do 4-inch heels anymore; 3.5 inches (around 85–90mm in most European brands) is the maximum I can comfortably wear all day, so these hit the sweet spot. For fit, my legs are pretty average - not skinny, not thick - and the stretchy material does keep the boots over the knee, though I’m not entirely sure they’d stay put all day without the occasional tug. I usually wear a 36.5/6.5 in shoes and boots (and a 36/6 in sandals), and the 6.5 fits perfectly and feels quite comfortable. I had a similar pair in real suede about 17 years ago from Stuart Weitzman, and these Karl Lagerfeld boots remind me so much of them. I still remember being at the Cristophe salon in Beverly Hills when Nicollette Sheridan walked in wearing a knee-length smooth black flared knit skirt, a cream silk blouse, and over-the-knee black suede boots. She looked incredibly chic. She said they were Stuart Weitzman, and I bought a pair the same day. These boots are stunning. They’re knee-high with a sleek stiletto heel and feature a zipper near the bottom of the shaft. While the zipper isn’t strictly necessary, it’s such a beautiful and intentional detail. The zipper pull itself is very extra—in the best way—and adds a luxe, designer touch. Functionally, it does seem to help slightly with tightening the boot around the ankle, which is a nice bonus. The color deserves its own moment. It’s a deep, rich eggplant—almost a blackened eggplant, but not quite that dark. It’s dramatic, elegant, and incredibly flattering in person. One of the most interesting design elements is the placement of the stiletto heel. It’s not positioned all the way at the back of the heel like you’d expect. Instead, it sits slightly forward, more toward the center of the heel. Visually, this initially made me nervous. Honestly, when I first saw them, I thought, there’s no way I could wear these without breaking an ankle. I personally wouldn’t even attempt it anymore. That said, my daughter wore them out the other night and said they were totally fine and comfortable to walk in. So I think the heel placement might just be a visual illusion—because clearly, they’re wearable and stable for someone used to stilettos. As for price, they’re definitely in the designer ready-to-wear range. It’s on the higher side for leather boots, but considering the design, craftsmanship, and Karl Lagerfeld name, they feel worth it. These boots are very comfortable. I thought the slanted heel would make it hard to walk, but when you're walking, you cannot feel that the heels are slanted at all. It is very easy to walk on and very balanced. The fabric for the leg portion is not too thick, not too thin, and very stretchy. I'm 5'6" 135 lbs with thicker thighs, and the legs have a bit of room to spare but they don't fall down. The boots are so comfortable and very stylish. They go well with short skirts or shorts. The quality of the boots is nice and there are discrete zippers to help put the shoes on and off. It's good value for the money and they are worth trying. Read more
