I have several brands which were purchased early on, but Kasa is the only brand I buy now. Yes, some will tell you that they work off and on. Well, they all do. These are set to connect at 2.4ghz which is designed intentionally to allow, I suspect, as long a range as possible. If you have a dual frequency ROUTER and power goes off for any reason, when it comes back on the router settings may or May NOT pair correctly. Most of the devices only work at 2.4 Ghz and router will likely start at 5Ghz. if it is a dual Frequency router. That means OH! OH! No connection until you intercede they must match at 2.4ghz. When they are matching, they work great. Alexa connection is easy with the Alexa App. Last note. During setup, the router,, cell phone and device MUST be at 2.4Ghz. After all is working properly, cell phone may be reset to 5Ghz without affecting the system. BUT! The device and it's router MUST both be at 2.4 Ghz. Read more
