This backdrop stand is perfect for small and home studio uses as well as parties and events. The kit is fairly lightweight and packs easily into the single carrying case. At 10’x8.5’ this is the perfect width for large backdrops and anything smaller. The 8.5’ tall height is great for most of my vinyl backdrops that have the same dimensions as this backdrop stand. The Kate Photo Backdrop Stand works out to be 10' x 8.5' . This whole set comes with two tripods, four crossbars, four clamps and storage bag. I love that it's adjustable to work into even smaller spaces when I want to just take photos of plants, items for sale and more. I appreciate the fact that it comes with a carrying case/bag, the only thing I"m not too crazy about is the flimsiness of the handles and I don't expect them to hold up for more than a few years. Although the metal is a bit lighter weight than I'd like, and it bows just the slightest bit when hanging a backdrop on it, I'm not really putting whole rolls of backdrop on so I'm not too worried about it bending significantly over time. This actually helps a lot with their portability as I'm not the tallest, strongest person so these don't feel clunky one bit. Setup is simple and teardown is just as easy. If you're starting out as a photographer, or want to take professional portraits, this kit is a must have essential for that. I've used various kits like these before and what stood out on this one compared to others is the easy to set up this was. The support beam that holds the backdrop is a screw on type which makes it easier to build and feels more attached and less likely to detach. The included tripods extend really high so you can use some long backdrops, it's also really wide so it's a big and comfortable to do photoshoots with. Once you're done shooting, take things down, the kit comes with a small portable bag that everything fits into. i was suprised by how small the bag is and how easy it is to transport, the whole kit is light but durable so it's not a big burden, and you can store the bag easily in a storage shelf or rack and barely takes up any space. I was a little disappointed by this one given the description of the item online. I was expecting it to be a bit more beefy given the description that it was "heavy-duty." I don't think I would classify this as heavy-duty at all. It seems pretty much on par with other stands at or even below this price point. - carry bag is made of inexpensive materials, small webbing for handles, inexpensive feeling hook-and-loop to keep it closed. I don't expect this bag to last very long - stands are typical budget stands - lightweight metal with plastic knobs for tightening (thought they never seem to get quite tight enough) - cross bar uses a threaded connection that I haven't seen before - not sure how it is any more stable then the other types I have used. Bar has a bit better diameter than others, but metal seems a bit thinner. It still definitely sags in the middle, even without a backdrop on it. - One end of the bar has a plastic insert for mounting, the other is the typical hold drilled through the metal - not sure why it's different on each end. Again, this is a budget stand and definitely feels like a budget stand. Take extra special care of this one if you want it to last some time. Read more
