The USB-A plug is securely mounted and not at an odd angle, the pcb is solidly enclosed in a hard plastic, and the cord has a nice strain relief where it exits the plastic housing. The cord itself is several feet of outer sheathing and seems quite durable. Inside it are four thin wires, one each of red, black, green and yellow. The red is snipped at the end of the jacket, and the other three are glued into a square, four conductor connector. Sadly, when the unit is plugged into a Windows computer device manager complains about this not being a genuine PL2303 and the driver will not recognize it either, with a similar message. In Linux, it likewise appears to identify itself as a Prolific 2303 but disconnects every two seconds or so. I was unable to connect via minicom or Putty. I really do like the shade of blue used for the molded plastic housing though. Read more
