I have to start by asking, where was this when I hurt my fingers trying to remove the switches that came with a cheap keyboard I purchased with the intent of modifying for learning purposes. No longer do I have to press hard on the sides of the switch puller and wiggle upwards and downwards to get it to loosen up from the PCB. I must admit, most of this may have been my ignorance in how to properly remove switches, but a lot of it had to do with the cheap switches themselves. Once I tried with this switch puller, not only did I not feel the fatigue or pain from having to press on the sides, but it also removed switches without the feeling that I'm going to be pulling out a hot swap socket. I for one will not go back to the standard keycap/switch pullers that come with most keyboards and will only use this tool. For the price, well worth it and it has lasted numerous, and I mean numerous changes of switches over various keyboards. The only thing that I would say to be careful with is that if the keyboard plate has flex cuts, do be careful that you do not accidentally insert one of the prongs into them because good luck getting it out without struggling quite a bit. This thing makes pulling switches an absolute breeze.. The cap puller works just as well as any other and folds away when not in use. The switch puller steals the show here though. Just hit the button with your thumb, put the puller over a key, push til it clicks, pull straight up, hit the button with thumb once more to release the switch and you're done. Id say its easily twice as fast as a standard switch puller. I WAS about to say that the only downside was that it had a hard time grabbing switches between stabilizers. Wound up trying it again just to make sure and had no issue getting at the switch this time. Might have to "aim" a bit more when dealing with stabs, but works flawlessly. If you only occasionally swap switches or change keycaps, this probably isn't really a product for you. If you're an enthusiast or hobbyist that messes with caps/switches multiple times a month across your half dozen or more keyboards though? Id say this product is for you. Read more

The keycap puller included in this kit doesn’t work very well and feels a bit flimsy, making it harder to remove keycaps cleanly without readjusting it multiple times. That said, the switch puller works extremely well and is clearly the highlight of the product. It grips switches securely and makes removing them fast, smooth, and much less frustrating compared to cheaper or poorly designed pullers. While I wouldn’t say this kit is worth the full $16 based solely on the overall package, the quality and effectiveness of the switch puller alone does save a significant amount of time and effort. If you frequently swap switches or work on mechanical keyboards, that convenience may make it worthwhile, even if the keycap puller falls short. Read more

My keyboard came with an over-long metal strip bent into a U, and one of the prongs intended to unclip the actual key was too short. It took me literally over an hour of cursing and fighting with my low-profile switches with my original to swap 104 keys. With this tool, it was SO MUCH BETTER. It was fast. It was worth the cost for me because I have two keyboards, and room mates with their own mechanicals, and nobody had a tool for it. They've let their molds go a little too long, the wire loops for pulling keys just don't stay clipped on one side and act like they're bent even though they aren't, but beyond that it was pretty perfectly built. Seems solid and reliable, from an engineering eye it's a good minimum build. The eject button is a bit of a launcher, so lay out a cloth to shoot your keys at or they'll dance across your desk. I found the most consistent use by appling next to no force ever, and just rocking until I heard the clicks of the keyswitch releasing on each side. When I tried to pull more, it always made things worse. A little side-to-side while twisting back and forth slightly, and I could legitimately go through more than two keyswitches in ten seconds. That's pretty respectable to me. A must-have if you're doing a keyswitch swap, moreso if you do several. Read more

Terrible tool. Doesn't work. Will break your caps because it can't grip the tabs right. Slightest tweak throws off the alignment of the grip so it's worthless. Will tear the caps off your switches and leave pins in the board but too short for you to pull out with tweasers. Ruined a $300 keyboard. Read more

I had a heck of a time pulling the original OEM key switches on my Keychron Q6 Pro, but this combo key switch and keycap puller hung on and refused to let go until I clicked the top button to release it! The keycap puller itself is a bit MEH, you have to squeeze the sides of the keycap puller in order to get a grip on the keycaps and more often than not the keycap flew off in another direction after pulling. I stopped using it (keycap puller) and used the cheap one sent with my replacement caps (it worked much better). I was thinking about dropping a star rating on this because of the keycap puller but reminded myself that I purchased this primarily for the switch puller, and it worked like a champ, in fact it really impressed me. The switches stayed in the puller after pulling them until you ejected them from it using the top release button, very, very cool. This is a smart design and based on the amount of force I had to use to get the original OEM switches to release, I can safely say that this is also one tough puller that is going to last me a long time!
